Recently, @WHOGhana has supported Ghana's meningitis response.

On Monday, I introduced the deployed technical officer from @WHO to the Minister of Health.

Today, on behalf of @WHOGhana, I donated 10,600 vials of Ceftriaxone to @mohgovgh and @_GHSofficial to aid the response.

In addition to technical support, @WHOGhana is providing essential logistics to combat meningitis.

Today, we donated 10,600 vials of Ceftriaxone, the antibiotic used to treat the disease, worth about $23,000. This will support treatment, save lives & strengthen Ghana’s response.

Ghana's Upper West Region is battling a meningitis outbreak that has claimed lives.

To support the response, @WHO HQ has deployed Dr. Nicolō Binello, Technical Officer for Meningitis. He will work with national and local health authorities to enhance care for meningitis patients

Today, while meningitis is still a killer disease driving explosive outbreaks and infecting more than 2.5 million people globally every year, there is now a concerted fightback.
