Late #PortfolioDay because my scheduled tweet was dated wrong. Mostly the same work as last year because posting your art online nowadays feels like collective suicide by AI and I have mixed views about social media these days too, but I still always want to share something...

It’s Lonely at the Centre of the Earth is getting a fifth reprint! Amazing! Remember, all profits until the end of the year will be donated to mental health charities in memory of my brother James 🩵
I'm guessing this is sort of a joke, but I think this is legitimately the only Concord 'redesign' I've seen that solves the problem. Everything else is just adding tits, drawing it again in their own style or rearranging the values/colours (lol).
I don't think the issue with the Concord's character designs were their races or genders. I think it's that they weren't dogs.
dogs with Gatlin guns.
balls in your court, Sony.
fetch.
@_Beezul I think something else I find really interesting that you point out is that on a technical level these characters aren't necessarily badly designed. They probably had good feedback from many people, and they are well executed. But they are very unaligned with the product goals.
@JordanMossy For sure. I did scroll the hashtag for it for a while and I saw enough that could be considered redesigns, but they just made a character with all the same problems without any awareness.
@_Beezul Yeh, Ill give credit to some people who are clearly hobbyist or learning, but some of the 'pros' are really showing their ass. It's amazing that on every side of the argument people are completely missing the point with their 'solutions'.
We have spent the last 4 month working on a top-down, grid-based open-world adventure game, traveller's hymn.

It'been quite a journey to make Selfloss, but unfortunately the release feels very flopy. Maybe you can help and bring more Steam reviews. I would appreciate that a lot! ❤️

This piece for @GardensDevs was featured in an article today, so I’m able to share it publicly! You can see more art from our amazing team over at https://t.co/1JuZcs2JjM
Just daydreaming a bit. Realized Mira from my explorer series works surprisingly well in an RPG setting. This was a scene I was planning to paint further down the line. #pixelart#ドット絵
@JordanMossy Also this is 100% the fights your leads/directors should be having, not you personally if you are an IC. It's also worth learning the art of politely listening, saying thanks and ignoring it haha.
@JordanMossy I think this applies to every role, but they are allowed opinions on things that affect/connect to their department. Eg. Gun that shoots fast needs to look like a gun that shoots fast. Other than that you can just interrogate why they feel something and then use it if you want.
@patrickgladys@marbmallow Thanks Pat. Nothing special I think, just rendering and texture options that removes AA and smoothing etc. Then just lots of time making sure the pixel density feels consistent.
Aside from the great art direction, one of the important parts of BoF4s quality is the consistency of pixel density in the sprites, the world textures and the screen resolution. "2DHD" games don't do this so they look like pixelated cut outs sliding around 4k raytraced Minecraft.
