It’s smart on Amazon part as any accident caused by the drivers can’t be used to sue Amazon. They only help with training and vehicles acquisition.
Plus it lets the subcontractors compete on efficiency and effectiveness as many of the subcontractors only have 1 year deals with Amazon that need to be renewed each year. If they can’t meet the high standards, they are booted and the other contractors pick up the extra work

Yes the Essex County board was all democrats and secured the contract as a big source of revenue for the county but don’t mislead people.
None of them had any involvement in the deal even if Cory Booker was mayor of Newark and Andy Kim was working in the state department.
Yes it’s hypocritical that they now protest the contract that was signed under their parties leadership but it’s just feels wrong to paint a false picture about people who had zero involvement
