@TF_Moments Closest thing I remember was when years ago the wiki kept bashing the Japanese dub of Beast Wars because they added extra jokes, with any mention of those jokes being followed by something like "Apparently, Japanese people think this is funny"
@killer_sandvich@OutOfContxtDubs AFAIK it's the dubbing director for the German dub. Basically they accidentally left a joke outtake in the final episode
@KinoKumaaa Still remember how the Italian dub of Shaman King was based on the 4Kids one except they used the original Japanese names because the manga was already available in Italy and they didn't want to confuse the kids (at least I heard once that was the reason)
@OutOfContxtDubs The episodes of the Italian dub of Slam Dunk basically made up gags and added swearing to each episode. The episodes would be sent to the network airing the show as late as possible to give no time to the higher ups to check them before airing to avoid censorship
@MorrowindGOTY@aigikoto This smells very fake for multiple reasons.
1) BUM is not a Nickelodeon show, they just had the US airing rights
2) BUM premiered in the UK a month before Invader Zim premiered in the US
3) BUM's US premiere was two months before Zim's cancellation
@MarioBrothBlog I would love to read the pastebin, but a very suspicious-looking pop-up with a very fake captcha thing keeps covering it every time I open it
@JoseBer56296540@OutOfContxtDubs Italian Studio Emme dubs when there's a sign that says "Stop" and they have to translate it even if the word is the same
And then a minute later they show again the same sign and they have the voiceover reading it again because yes
@sunflower_o7 My dumb archetype is "one-shot character who at the end of the episode takes off their wig and surprise it was regular cast member all along"
(Left: Yukiji from Zodiac P.I., Right: Roxy from The Loud House)
@SixoTF The fact that Mother and Father's day have different dates in different countries always baffles me. Like, I live in Italy and we do Father on March 19 and Mother on the second Sunday in May
@hwinkler4real I remember hearing for the first time about this movie because the Italian dub tried to pass it off as a prequel to Happy Days, by renaming your character "Fonzie" and renaming the movie "Happy Days - The Peach Flower Gang"
