For his livelihood, along with his father, he sells ice slabs as a roadside vendor.

He cannot write, he never went to school, and all his education is acquired by asking questions to Google several hours a day.

From the Preamble to the Indian Constitution (Hindi version) to Urdu Shayar Ahmed Faraz and Kavi Gopal Das Neeraj’s poetry to legal rights of workers and minimum wage & hour laws in India, his knowledge is 10x more than the average brainwashed WhatsApp University uncles of India.

In the video, Irfan emphasizes on “garima” (dignity). The Preamble to the Constitution explicitly states: “assuring the dignity of the individual,” irrespective of their caste, religion, education, or economic status.

Irfan was discovered by The Lallantop’s brilliant journalist Rajat Pandey @RajatpandeyJF during recent student protests at Jantar Mantar. That’s real journalism India needs instead of the shameless mainstream media that is digging India’s grave.

A driver told his CEO: "I lost $97,000 because of you." The CEO's answer cost him a $69 billion company.

Super Bowl Sunday, February 5, 2017. Travis Kalanick orders an Uber Black in San Francisco and lands in the car of Fawzi Kamel, a driver since 2011.

Kamel recognizes his passenger and asks about the falling fares. Then the number: $97,000 lost, bankrupt because of him.

Kalanick's reply goes into the dashcam word for word: "Some people don't like to take responsibility for their own shit. They blame everything in their life on somebody else. Good luck!"

Door slam. Kamel rates the ride 1 star and hands the file to Bloomberg.

The clip detonates on February 28. Watching it, Kalanick drops to his knees in front of colleagues, by their account.

The damage control fails in character: he visits Kamel to apologize, then spends the hour re-arguing fares. The peace costs $200,000, paid to the driver.

Four months later investors force Kalanick out of the $69 billion company he built from nothing.

His exit consolation: a $2.7 billion stake sale. Uber without him passed $150 billion.

ہمارے ہاں دانشوروں کا ایک طبقہ ایسا بھی ہے جو ماضی کے کنویں میں قید ہے. جب بھی سر باہر نکالتا یے اس کنویں کی کوئی روئداد حوالہ قرطاس کرکے پھر سے اسی کنویں میں غوطہ زن ہوجاتا ہے. اس بات سے قطع نظر کے کنویں کے باہر گھڑی کی سو ئیاں چلتی رہی ہیں اور کئی کیلنڈروں کے صفحے پیلے ہوکر تبدیل ہوگئے اور وہ کیلنڈر اب شاید کسی ردی کی دوکان سے میسر ہوں تو ہوں ورنہ آج کل تو ری سائیکلنگ کا زمانہ ہے.

ماضی سے جڑے رہنا اچھی بات ہے لیکن اگر ماضی زنجیر پاء ہو جائے تو آپ کی پہنچ اور بساط کم ہوجاتی ہے. ماضی کو کندھوں پر لاد کر بھی نہیں چلا جا سکتا . اگر سفر طویل ہو تو جوتے بھی بھاری لگنے لگ جاتے ہیں کجا کہ سر پر لادی گھٹڑی.

دوسرا مسئلہ یہ ہے کہ ہم ہر شخص اور اس کے کردار کو بھی ماضی سے جدا کرنے کو تیار نہیں. اس کا آج یقینا مختلف ہے . میری اپنی سوچ جو آج سے پندرہ سال پہلے تھی آج اس سے بالکل مختلف ہے. انسان کا شعوری ارتقاء اسے تبدیل کرتا ہے. کئی کمیونسٹ آج کیپٹل ازم اور آزاد مارکیٹ اکانومی کے حامی ہیں . کئی مذہبی کٹر و شدت پسند لبرل و سیکولر ہوگئے اور کئی الحاد کے حامی ہوگئے اور اسی طرح کئی ملحد آج داڑھی و عمامہ میں دکھائی دیتے ہیں.

کیا ہم کسی انسان کو اتنی رعایت دینے کو تیار نہیں کہ اس سے ماضی میں سرزد غلطیوں پر اس کی گو شمالی کی بجائے اسے آج تاریخ میں درست سمت کھڑے ہونے پر شاباش دی جائے. کیا یہ بھی اس شخص کا کمال نہیں کہ اس نے اپنی جاھلیت یا آغلاط پر اصرار اور ہٹ دھرمی کی بجائے اسے تسلیم کیا اور اپنا رستہ بدل لیا . کیا یہ قابل تحسین عمل نہیں .
اسی طرح کسی ایسے شخص جسے آپ اصول پرست سمجھتے رہے ، اس کی ہوس اقتدار کو عوامی جدو جہد سمجھتے رہے بعد ازاں جب آپ پر حقیقت آشکار ہوئی تو آپ نے اس کی تقلید ترک کردی۔ کسی بھی شخص سے بغیر اصول کے وفاداری و استواری عین جہالت اور غلامانہ طرز فکر ہے۔

Pakistan’s grid is doing something rare. Fossil has fallen from 66% to 44%. Nuclear is scaling. Solar is breaking out, wind is joining in & decentralised rooftop solar is scaling at an unprecedented pace. Meanwhile, hydro holds the system together as the generational shift begins.

For two decades, Pakistan’s power mix barely moved. Fossil sat around 60–70%, hydro carried ~30%, and everything else was marginal. Then the energy transition began, and it didn’t follow the usual script.

Nuclear moved first. From ~2% in 2000 to ~17% by 2025, it’s one of the few systems globally where nuclear share is clearly rising. That growth is deliberate, built, and running at high capacity, quietly strengthening the backbone of the grid.

Wind edged in gradually. But the real disruption came from solar. From effectively zero to ~8% in a short window, driven less by policy and more by economics. High tariffs, unreliable supply, and cheap panels triggered a massive surge in behind-the-meter installs.

That’s the key nuance. A large share of Pakistan’s solar boom sits off-grid and isn’t fully captured in official generation data. It makes the system look slower to change than it actually is, and makes building a clean dataset far more challenging than in most countries.

Two very different forces are now moving together. Nuclear is scaling from the top down, engineered and centralised. Solar is spreading from the bottom up, reactive and decentralised. They’re not competing. They’re stacking.

Hydro sits in the middle, doing what it has always done, balancing and stabilising the system. Fossil is still large and still necessary, but it’s no longer growing. From ~66% down to ~44%, it’s clearly losing ground.

Pakistan hasn’t followed a clean transition pathway. It’s been pushed into change by cost, constraints, and demand. The result isn’t one technology replacing another. It’s a system being reshaped from multiple directions at once.

Hydro anchors. Nuclear scales. Solar breaks out. Wind warms up. Fossil fills what’s left.

Not merely a transition. A system under pressure, starting to bend.
