@puchacho11@LewisDeighton17 Maybe so. Would seem odd to do it around Xmas and then just not bother until April before doing it twice more.
But any more detailed investigation would have taken a lot longer to resolve
@MaximusDaveus@D555555D@henrywinter Saints got a 0-0 draw away from home, can anyone prove they wouldn't have lost 1-0 without spying? Then gone out after the 1-1 2nd leg draw (without ET being needed)
@MaximusDaveus@henrywinter View the first leg as a 3-0 forfeit, where the spying could have contributed to the 0-0 on the day. Then it's a 4-2 win for Boro leading to the correct outcome.
This is how the punishment should have been worded in my opinion
@duaa_typist@henrywinter No doubts what Bielsa did was against the spirit of things but it wasn't against the rules of the time. These rules exist because of that situation (he also wasn't first given Mourinho used to send Vilas-Boas all over the place to spy on training)
@sistoney67@SouthamptonFC They need to remember there was no rule in place when Leeds did it, one was added in the aftermath of that. A 3 point deduction (3-0 reversal in knockout games) is fair and proportionate with various precedents, so with 2 proven league cases they're already 2 points up
I put the weekend something like this:
10/10 Leeds win
9
8 West Ham win and stay up
7
6
5
4 Leeds draw
3
2
1 Leeds lose but West Ham go down anyway
It's funnier if Spurs go down but West Ham are going to have to earn it, Leeds should not be rolling over for anyone

@ChrisMFC93@LewisDeighton17 At this point the regular season is over and the next competition (play-offs) has started. If there's charges to answer for those games it can only realistically be a points deduction applied to next season
@ChrisMFC93@LewisDeighton17 ...Millwall could choose to sue Southampton for £200m, see how that goes, but there's no way they can be given Ipswich's place now. Boro however, the play-offs aren't concluded until the final happens, so it's still a live competition with options, hence the urgency to hear it
@ChrisMFC93@LewisDeighton17 Same as Man City, say they're found guilty of everything, they can't realistically cancel all their results from those seasons and re-draw from there, there would either be no winners or whoever finished 2nd would be awarded things...
@scottjohnrober1@LewisDeighton17 There's a limit at this point to how far they go back. Saw something suggesting Bristol and Norwich too, could be getting into an "every game" scenario. But it was at Boro that got caught. The rest will have to end up in court if the teams want to push it
