@RiseNDraft All very plausible. But there is almost always a non-5 star that surpasses expectations every year (ie Anthonie Knapp in ‘24) and makes an immediate splash.

I have no idea who that might be in ‘26, but I’ll bet a lower ranked recruit will get on the field before a 5-star.

@CFBGuy999 I would prefer not to. As much as I would be highly uneasy about the decision, I do think it makes a lot of sense for geographic reasons. I’m sure I could get used to it if the rules of the game change so dramatically that an independent has no path to a title.

It would very likely fracture permanently what little harmony exists in a sport seemingly hellbent on destroying itself from within.
