A racetrack coil does have an exact analytic field expression: elementary functions for the straight sections, and incomplete elliptic integrals for the semicircular ends. That is different from having a short, purely algebraic formula. Exact circular-arc field expressions are established in the literature.

@daaximus @_can1357 To be fair OVH was never "on". They're one of the most oversubscribed host I've ever tried with the worst tier-1 peering in the industry. Their ip have been on top of spamhaus bans for years since their prices attracted people who don't care if network was unstable.

Don't forget that physical memory address isn't actually a physical memory address.

After the MMU, the address is a system physical address, not a DRAM cell coordinate.

The memory controller maps that address onto ranks, banks, rows, and columns, and may interleave or remap around bad pages.

Then memory encryption (TME/SME) and CXL/device memory can rewrite or relocate the address one more time before it hits real media.

I often wonder if the difference between successes and failure is a gentle push in the right direction. I struggled with poor results optimizing code until I wrote a short philosophical primer on how to reason about efficiency, develop ideas, measure, and debug. After reading the document the model has became more clever than me.
