CoUnity is the best in the game for community and loyalty.
I'll have announcements from the Canary side soon about what we've been cooking with CoUnity!
Genuinely I’ve met many members of their team over the year. Each time I’m blown away by their passion, execution and how professional they are when we interact both professionally and in the world!
These guys will take your project to the next level and throw my name in the basket when you visit their page. They will take care of you ❤️
@thedanrodman from @CoUnity_ dropped a masterclass on community-led growth, reframing GTM as GTC (Go-To-Community).
A line to pin on the wall: “Marketing is fishing; community is a watering hole.”
Drawing on a data-first background in mechanical engineering/robotics, he mapped community as orbits (à la Patrick Woods) and walked teams through an Identity → Experiences → Structure design pass: know your personas, design rituals/rules/roles, and choose the right “where” (Discord/Telegram/IRL) to host the energy. His Commitment Curve made it concrete; most members lurk (90%), some contribute (9%), and a critical 1% become leaders, so craft onboarding that moves people from curious → excited → safe → seen.
He then layered game mechanics to spark participation (challenges, competitions, feedback loops, rewards, turns, “wins”) and demoed a Community Gamification Grid prompt that turns your mission + personas into tailored activation ideas.
On the ops side, he urged a four-step Support Design to protect engineering time: 1) self-serve docs/FAQs, 2) AI help (e.g., Pluno) in a single support channel, 3) community-to-community answers, 4) tiered ticketing.
For staying power, his 7 Rs of retention: Rituals, Rewards, Roles, Recognition, Relationships, Relevance, Referrals become your weekly checklist.
Join @thedanrodman at the @BGameAlliance Demo Day, this Wednesday.
