Keir Starmer never intended to scrap the 2 child benefit cap
He said it was:-
‘Something the country couldn’t afford’
He would have left over 1.6 ml children in poverty
He was dragged kicking & screaming into scrapping it
He’s not even close to being a ‘decent bloke’.
I never ever dreamt that a Labour party would openly want to cut welfare for the disabled for warfare. That's bad enough, now add the rush to get through the suicide bill with no safeguards.
Don't tell me the two things aren't related.
Burnham is probably telling Labour MP's right now - 'don't worry I will continue with the crusade to devastate the lives of the sick and disabled with needless cuts'
There is a lot of myth-making about Starmer's leadership, much of it unchallenged.
It is hard to support the claim Starmer 'saved the Labour party' when he got 560,000 votes fewer than Corbyn in 2019.
2024 was a Tory collapse, not a Labour surge.
(via HoC Library).
Keir Starmer ends as he started: with a massive lie about Corbyn's Labour.
Failed Fraudster Starmer claimed he took over a party which was "financially bankrupt".
Actually Corbyn left Labour with a substantial surplus and £27 million in the bank. Lyin' Loser Keir.
Starmer batted off questions when 167 Iranian 🇮🇷 school girls were murdered by 🇮🇱 & 🇺🇸
He batted off questions about 20,00 🇵🇸 children murdered in Gaza 🇵🇸
He batted off questions about 🇮🇱 starving children in Gaza 🇵🇸
But when it comes to losing his job
He is moved to tears.
Bills up.
Wages too low.
Record profits for Oil & Gas.
50 richest families with more wealth than 50% of population.
Shit in our rivers.
Pensioners jailed for protesting.
Migrants thrown under the bus.
Supporting a Genocide.
That's Starmer's legacy.
@tom_watson@KayBurley Nominated for a peerage by the Keir Starmer. Watson became Baron Watson of Wyre Forest, of Kidderminster in the County of Worcestershire.
Jobs and privileges for the boys.
So, it appears we're heading for an undisputed #AndyBurnham coronation. Surely, as a #disabled person, I shoukd feel relief, that a new, nominally soft-left PM is incoming?
I don't. The perception that we disabled are a burden, are milking the system, are to be punished and persecuted has become so ingrained in society that no PM will dare challenge that. To do so would be political suicide. Like others who sole lifeline is #PIP and #UniversalCredit I long ago learned to live in fear.
So when someone asks if I'll feel safer, more protected under an @AndyBurnhamGM government, the answer will be a resounding no.
Starmer claimed to have ended austerity in his resignation statement, which will be news to disabled people who have had LCWRA Universal Credit cut by 50% and were terrorised by Labour plans to cut PIP
Let's be honest, all parties wont be happy until welfare payments are £20 a week and if you're disabled you get a hand grabber (litter picker) and a handrail that will take 4 years to install.
Here we go again... rather than working to ensure a 'good death' for all by funding end of life care, yet another misguided MP is pushing for assisted suicide
Thankfully my @BBCOne documentary explaining mine & others opposition is still on @BBCiPlayer

.@AndyBurnhamGM Your talk about cutting the "welfare bill" (ie #SocialSecurity#benefits) is horrific! #Disabled people, like me, and my #carer husband have experienced years of benefit #cuts & freezes. Have you even looked at how low the amounts people get actually are?
