@ChristianJsays Oh, I see. Yeah I’m sure that’s true. I was thinking on Farm as animals are being raised the numbers that die and wind up in the dead box I don’t think they tally those although I think there is some data out there on that but they’re not counted in the slaughter number.
@mattworkman I work in theatre arts, strong anti-AI sentiment there. I never share stuff on social (other than X) because I would get too much blow back. There is no room for discussion, it's a group moral mentality. You're either a good person (anti AI) or a bad person (Open to AI)
@c_valenzuelab Love your work and Runway, but respectfully disagree. Performances are still an AI weakness. V2V is the only way I have truly nuanced performances. Real actor with AI overlays are compelling though. Like Avatar but with AI.
Admirably, we care so much about hypothetical Martian life that we bake spacecraft for 60 hours before launch.
Less admirably, here on Earth we confine billions of thinking, feeling chickens and pigs in warehouses so inhumane most of us can’t bear to look.
@0xInk_ I was watching the tutorial from a filmmaker and their big tip was to keep a clip and use composing in an edit software, and this idea was brand new to them. They never composited anything in their life. They’re having to learn the skill to make the tools work.
@jennykrakovsky Emotional control is not enough and it’s kind of a trap. It could be misleading. AI is not performing the basic task of listening and reacting. It has no context. It hasn’t read the script. something real performers bring to the table.
@jennykrakovsky Really well done. I work in both theatre and AI video. Understanding what a good performance is and how it should flow is something that you need to learn it’s a skill set.
@pollock_vibes@taherdhanera AI is not listening to the performance of the other actor in the scene. Every line is delivered in the absence of feedback. Something that occurs naturally and easily with two actors. I don’t know how AI crosses that hurdle.
@pollock_vibes@taherdhanera I commit this from a directorial standpoint I work in Theatre. Emotional control isn’t the problem. per se. It’s context. AI hasn’t read the script. They don’t understand their characters relationship to the other actors in the scene. Mother, stranger, manipulator
@taherdhanera Agreed. I also think that actors are needed, to bring nuanced performances to AI, which still brings almost unflinchingly weak performances to the table. Could you prompt endlessly for that hoping for a good take? I guess, but seems hopeless if you don't understand peformances.
@kumareth The same folks who deny animals personhood, are using the same excuses that likely denied your (and my) ancestors once upon a time, personhood status.
