@24tog I disagree with #3. Her husband isolated her knowing she was suicidal. Fired the nanny, declined help from in-laws and his parents. Left for a NY trip. He had her meds in his vehicle. His DNA was the only DNA on the rubber exercise bands the killed the kids. reasonable doubt.

The Phillies are saddened to learn of the unexpected passing of former pitcher Larry Christenson this morning while on a fishing trip with family and friends in Washington state. He was 72.

Christenson, who spent his entire 11-year major league career with the club from 1973-83, was selected by the Phillies in the third round of the 1972 MLB Draft. “LC” was a member of the 1980 World Series championship team and the National League pennant-winning club in 1983.

A native of Everett, Wash., Christenson made his big league debut on April 13, 1973, against the New York Mets at the age of 19 and earned the win in a complete-game effort. A mainstay in the Phillies starting rotation that qualified for the postseason six times over his 11 seasons, Christenson posted a career-best 19 victories in 1977. He was the winning pitcher and hit a grand slam as part of a five-RBI game in the Phillies’ NL East division-clinching win on Sept. 27, 1977, against the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field. Christenson’s 11 career home runs are tied with Rick Wise for the most in franchise history as a pitcher and he ranks ninth on the club’s all-time list in games started (220).

In addition to his legacy as a Phillies player, “LC” was an active supporter of Phillies Charities and other local non-profits.

The club and its fans are forever grateful for his contributions and the legacy he leaves behind in Philadelphia.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to Larry’s beloved daughters, Claire and Libby, his extended family and friends, and former teammates at this difficult time.

@gehrig38 I had the pleasure of thanking him for the 1980 World Series win. We both got our coffee at Bucks County coffee kiosk in Genardi’s supermarket in Chesterbrook (Wayne,PA) in the morning. Extremely nice man and highly complimentary of his teammates.

Chicago! Murder capital USA. Chicago fans compared to Philly fans. Philly never killed a fan like LA,or threw”D”batteries like Cleveland.I understood Philly’s rep at a colts home game. Walking to the (2005)game, a sea of blue me in a Dawkins jersey a Colts fan hides a “boo” at a traffic light.I immediately turnaround scanning the crowd. EVERYONE!there puts their head down not to make eye contact w/me. It shocked me.
