President Bush throws the first pitch of Game 3 of the 2001 World Series after 9/11
As silly as it sounds, it was important for him to throw a strike. No matter what you think of him, that was clutch/badass. Used the regulation rubber as well. Big time...
25 years later and I still think this is the greatest ceremonial first pitch ever
@miradreaamy 10. The one is an equilateral triangle. So the interior angle is 60. Assuming the bottom line is an actual line, the three angles together must equal 180. So 40 (given), 60 (equilateral triangle), the other angle of the triangle we are solving for must be 80. Angle is 10.
@JSWC1995 There are only 8 to 12 home games in an NFL season. Demand for tickets is extremely high. So huge stadiums are built. Not unlike the mega-stadiums that are built for mega soccer clubs that have high demand. (2/2)
@JSWC1995 The point? Undoubtedly, the UK example is a better place to watch a game bc you are much closer; however, only for those lucky enough to actually get a ticket. Most of the stadiums in US which are hosting WC games are NFL stadiums. (1/2)
I don’t know who needs to hear this, but…
The poorest Americans today enjoy a standard of living that the richest people on earth couldn’t buy a century ago.
Why?
Free-market capitalism is the only system in history to lift entire societies out of mass poverty.
@mcuban My only concern with this approach: The NBA requires clear and conclusive evidence to overturn a call on the court. If the Association begins telling refs to make calls to preserve the ability to review, there should be no deference to the call on the Court.
I’ve played, coached, reffed & covered basketball for 30+ years. I’m also NOT a Spurs fan. What OKC has done — building half their strategy to manipulate the refs on every possession — is a disgrace to the game and awful to watch. This is Harden on steroids. Fans deserve better.
@NateDuncanNBA This one play side, surely didn't come here to defend the officiating in the NBA did you? Can you honestly say you enjoy watching the current brand of NBA basketball? Shame, because there is plenty of talent in the NBA right now. Just wished they still played basketball.
@HaterReport NBA had become a nearly unwatchable product. The officiating is AWFUL. Everyone flopping and foul baiting. And whether a call is made or not, the players from the "other" side whining about the call out lack thereof.
