Fezile Dabi District Commissioner, Major General Makubo, led a District Vehicle Checkpoint (VCP) operation in partnership with Traffic near the Kroonstad Subway towards Maokeng on Friday, 22 May 2026
The objective of the Vehicle Checkpoint was to prevent and combat crime through high police visibility, detect and apprehend wanted suspects, recover stolen vehicles and illegal firearms, ensure compliance with traffic and vehicle regulations, and strengthen community confidence in law enforcement through proactive policing operations.
During the operation, a total of 336 persons and 283 vehicles were searched. Nineteen traffic fines to the value of R8 400,00 were issued for various traffic infringements, while one unroadworthy vehicle was impounded by Traffic officials. NP

The Acting Provincial Commissioner of North West, Major General (Dr) Ryno Naidoo commended the members for their vigilance, decipline and commitment in upholding the law. #sapsFS#SAPSCares - Jacobsdal Social Crime office, together with the Jacobsdal station commander Capt Swart, Vispol Commander W/O Molifi, and Reservist Dwadwa from youth crime prevention, embarked on a #CommunityOutreach programme at Generations - Sandershoogte Jacobsdal. The aim of the campaign was to enhance community outreach in the form of handing out food parcels to the needy.
The Jacobsdal station management came to a decision that festive season is about family times during Christmas. Food parcel was handed over to a family in Generations. The family of 6 members, only received an income from child grants and the grandmother's pension money.
The station commander Captain Swart and his deputy W/O Molifi handed over the food parcel to the grandmother and thanked her for still taking care of her household irrespective of the challenges. Members will ensure regular patrols to the vicinity and assured the family that the police will be available during this festive season. NP

As part of the ongoing Safer Feative Season Operations, The Provincial Commissioner of the Police in Gauteng, Lieutenant General Tommy Mthombeni together with the Acting Executive Mayor for Ekurhuleni, Ald Jongizizwe Dlabathi, are conducting a walk about at Golden Walk Mall and Germiston Taxi Rank.

Earlier on, a multi-agency Inter-Provincial roadblock was held on the N12 road between Warrenton and Christiana. Thus far, 188 vehicles were stopped and searched. #sapsGP The Gauteng Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Tommy Mthombeni led yet another successful multidisciplinary high-density #OperationShanela in Akasia policing precinct, Tshwane District last night.
The provincial detectives arrested 1556 suspects with 339 for crimes against women and children overnight. At a roadblock, 42 illegal immigrants were apprehended, 28 for drunk and driving and two suspects for possession of a stolen motor vehicle.
Compliance inspections were conducted in Soshanguve where more than eight liquor outlets were closed for non-compliance. NP
