Dolphins June 4 minicamp recap
I thought the OL and pass pro was kind of the story of the day. QBs were afforded ample time as the team drills were all run from red zone.
Malik Willis had multiple touchdown throws, a nice one to the pylon to Greg Dulcich working on Tyrel Dodson. Malik Wahsingotn and Jalen Tolbert both had TDs from Willis.
The first play of the team period was a 12-yard Jaylen Wright TD run with Paul, Proctor and Brewer hitting key blocks and Dulcich joining in on the fun.
Terrace Marshall pulled down a nice contested catch from Cam Miller and Seydou Traore later pulled one down from Miller. Quinn Ewers had a scramble TD that got his teammates fired up.
Kevin Coleman had a really nice week punctuated by what I thought was his best day. He made a bunch of catches, and usually in tight quarters. He plucks it and puts it away as he gets small.
I continue to be impressed by Chop’s strain setting hard edges. He had one where he had to maintain the hand fight down the line, and stayed in it all the way unil the calvary arrived. He also teamed up with Kenneth Grant for a sack on a play where Malik created, but Chop and KG maintained their gap integrity to shut the play down.
Jacob Rodriguez had a bunch of plays today – scrape tackles to the edge, and a nice breakup on a ball to the end zone targeted for Ben Sims.
Jason Marshall had two targets that went incomplete where he drove from a back pedal and was all over it. Chris Johnson did, too. These corners click and close really nicely for how big they are.
Dante Trader was awesome today. He had two breakups in the red zone and continues to measure out big hit opportunities if the practice were live.
Plenty more to cover, as always, on the pod this afternoon.
Jeff Hafley on Dolphins rookie CB Chris Johnson, who was one of his favorite players in the ‘26 draft:
“He is very instinctive, he sees the game very fast …We’ve thrown a lot on his plate and he’s handled it very, very well … He’s got good energy and he’s really mature for a rookie.”
The first round pick should challenge for a starting job this season in a secondary that’s completely up for grabs
Jeff Hafley said Dolphins OL Jamaree Salyer’s injury probably won’t be anything long-term after he was carted off the field yesterday, but he won’t practice today and there’s a chance he misses next week too
Hafley said rookie WR Caleb Douglas won’t practice today either

Dolphins June 3 minicamp recap:
The play of the day was a 40 yard strike from Willis to Sims for a TD in the end-of-game, move the ball period. Willis took the offense down the field and scored on a drive that started at the -30 with to play. He beat a blitz by ripping the ball down the middle hitting the back foot and firing a laser. The safety tried to make a play but was a beat late, allowing Sims to rumble in.
Another solid outing for Malik as he play on time and in rhythm with accuracy throughout the day (second in a row, for my money).
Willis’s unit got another end-of-game period and on the first play Chop Robinson beat Kion Smith for a sack. Immediate dispatch with speed and dipping the corner by Chop. Been a solid week for 44. Chop and Uche teamed up for a sack later in the drill to put the offense way behind the chains. Uche was in the backfield earlier in 11v11 that would’ve resulted in at least a QB hit.
Ewers threw some damn good balls, too. He hit a pair of chunk gains over the middle in the final 7 on 7, then found Atwell for 25 and 15 on back to back plays on his end of game situation. The first ball over the corner under the safety on a line drive.
Jalen Tolbert made a bunch of catches, Malik Washington involved, too. They’ve been consistently open this week.
Paul-Proctor-Brewer created some nice running lanes in 11 on 11 late, but the period started with back to back Brooks TFLs. The all-pro captain was everywhere today. Both of those Brooks plays were set up by Grant holding the point of attack, and Chop setting a hard edge.
Chris Johnson had one of the more impressive PBUs you’ll see in 7v7. Started up on the LOS, wound up making the play as Wilis tried Tutu in that soft spot behind the corner and under the safety. He also broke up a quick throw from Willis to Washington in the end of game period.
I have a ton more, which I’ll cover on the podcast this afternoon.
