@tumisole@CountryDutyZA He is trying to be a whistle blower against a whistle blower.. He alleges the whistle blower should have blown a whistle on himself in the process of blowing . So whose blowing is the correct blowing here? At the end the Commission must pay attention to the blowing..
@ZungulaVuyo We appreciate that so far, the state has managed to recover over R17bn from state capture that was led by Jacob Zuma. We will continue until all state capture proponents are brought to book. You can keep on fighting Jacob Zuma's losing battle. We don't care.
@ZwaneOmkhulu People need to stop making decisions on the basis of politicians 's sound bites, so that they can make a clear distinction between politics and matters of law. With all law considered Cyril is not guilty.
@ZwaneOmkhulu Thanks.. I also read the Public Protector's report and in the report she went at length on how she arrived at her findings. But most importantly she stuck to the true principles of the interpretation of statute as she explained the legal basis of all allegations.
PRESIDENT RAMAPHOSA AND HIS RESIGNATION
My tweet-length advice to the president would be not to resign, at least at this stage of the process.
There are of course many factors to consider, and a meaningful case can be made for a resignation at this stage.
It would however, regardless of its other merits, create potential legal, political perception and face saving problems for the president himself, the ANC and even the GNU.
Anyone then who wishes to advance his resignation as the best option would have to make that possible, less risky, less harmful, for those interests. A golden bridge will need to be built.
As much media attention as this is generating, I do not believe that it is the political hand grenade punted by some. The management of the problem may sway a few previously undecideds, and of course it's all excellent ammunition for those who would not have voted for the ANC in any event. It will also be a handy weapon for Ramaphosa's internal enemies.
Within the in-group, this can be survived. As I have predicted, and as we can see from e.g. the attacks by the Trump administration, and as we will no doubt see to the great surprise of many during the upcoming local elections, the way our politicians mismanage identity conflicts may just cause an increased mobilization and a strengthening of bonds in the ANC electorate.
As a country, we are stuck in a harmful dilemma that could, and should, have been prevented. It is an example of the ANC'S callous, selfish and clumsy leadership, and further evidence of the terminal decay of this party.
But at this particular crossroads in our national history, I do not believe that his resignation helps us much. It's too late to derive any benefit from a claim of ethical conduct, and the instability and existential focus this will bring, first to the ANC and then to the rest of us, will be the last thing we need right now.
Let the process take its course, and we play those cards as they appear
