We’re just sayin’. To abolish mask -wearing laws in some States while the rest of the Nation keeps theirs is like designating a peeing section of the swimming pool.
🗣️Let's have a discussion about unpaired electron materials in organics! (OMIEC, OLEDs, everything). Talks deadline is 3rd Feb to get involved...(+ access to other symposia) https://t.co/6sVI8Sy6vb
Abstract deadline approaching! Working on light emission? Join along with excellent invited speakers at the @nanoGe_Conf Spring Meeting! https://t.co/FL5GJMPQfg
Join me at @AndorTechnology Material Science virtual event on the 9th/10th of February! I will present novel spectroscopic studies on #perovskite semiconductors performed @Cambridge_Uni by my collogues and me as well as the latest update from my work @AarhusUni on #dielectrics.
Register your place at Andor’s first Material Science virtual event. You'll have the opportunity to connect with our application specialists to get tips, tricks, advice on overcoming challenges in your research & more https://t.co/Ba2K94aRqx #MaterialScience#VirtualEvents#Andor
@BHDrummond I know, I was just remembered of the table vibrations by the cryostat reading about the sonic boom :-). I guess the fastlab is the most secure place being half underground, I am more worried about the windows in the old Cavendish buildings.
Curious about dynamic lattice deformations & polarons in halide perovskites? Check out our work @NatureMaterials. Here we monitored evolution of deformations in a single crystal MAPbBr3 following photoexcitation by femtosecond x-ray diffuse scattering https://t.co/naeClgcv1L (1)
Don't 'follow your passion': find what you are good at, become excellent at doing it through repetition and graft, and then become passionate about doing it in the best way possible.
To everyone posting about h indices & citations, just remember:
1) people cite their friends
2) minorities are cited at lower rates
3) authors are pressured by reviewers into adding refs
So, a high h index doesn't equal scientific merit. #AcademicChatter#foodforthought
