If the SEC allows Mark Mitchell to transfer to another SEC school this late in the cycle, I guess any SEC player can enter the portal at anytime of the year. What a joke. He should’ve entered the portal like his senior teammates did. Good agents pay off. He’s ineligible.

The @SEC legal strategy seems blindingly obvious. The Conference will take action either in federal court or by appealing and asking the state appeals courts to stay whatever lower court injunctions have been issued in favor of former NFL players - or, more likely, they’ll do both.

Doing so will create enough uncertainty about whether the injunctions will be stayed or overturned to create an enormous risk for any school that puts a player on their roster whose eligibility is barred by the new SEC rule. If a school takes that risk and the courts allow the SEC to enforce its new rule, God help the school administrators who recklessly made that short-sighted decision. 🙏

The rule is quite clear. Kentucky thought they could skirt it. The SEC clarified to them they can not.

They have 4 options

1 Cut ties
2 play Mitchell and accept the penalties
3 pay him to practice
4 sue the SEC over a rule THEY agreed to (lol)
