I’ve supported Manchester City for so many years, and I’ve had so many favorite players.

I loved Kompany, Hart , Džeko, Balotelli ,David Silva, Yaya Touré, Samir Nasri, Fernandinho, Kevin De Bruyne, Sané, Ederson ,Mahrez, Sterling, Gabriel Jesus, Gündoğan, Julián Alvarez ,Bob, and I still love Bernardo Silva. And of course, Pep Guardiola as our manager.

If the Rodri situation ends with him leaving, it’ll hurt because he’s one of my favorites too. But I’ve been through this before, and I’ve learned that no player or manager is bigger than Manchester City.

We’ll get over every situation, just like we always have. 💙

Rodri, if you’re reading this I just want you to know I’ve made peace with it. You can leave my club. It’s your life at the end of the day. Thank you for everything you gave us.

But I find it bizarre. Genuinely strange, almost embarrassing, that you’d force a move to a club that treated you like nothing. A club whose own president doesn’t want you and reportedly has to be convinced to even accept you. A club that hurled all manner of insults at you the moment you won the Ballon d’Or and then had the audacity to boycott the very award you earned.

I don’t think you understand how frustrating this is for the loyal fans who stood by you. Who were with you through your ACL, through the darkest stretch of your career, who defended you against rival fans who mocked and slandered you at every turn.

I don’t think you understand how angry we are.

You could have ranked above the Vincents, the Davids, the Sergios, the Kevins, the Bernardos.
You could have gone down as the greatest player to ever walk through the Etihad. But you won’t. And we won’t ever view you the same way again.
