Here’s the better solution: become the kind of man suitable for a godly woman and a godly woman will gladly submit to your leadership.

Het is een schande dat de met belastinggeld betaalde publieke omroep — AVROTROS met steun van de NPO — dit besluit heeft genomen. Het Songfestival had altijd de bedoeling boven de politiek te staan. Door deze beslissing maakt de AVROTROS het juist politiek. Er is momenteel notabene een wapenstilstand tussen Israel en Hamas, terwijl Hamas nog steeds niet de lichamen van alle gegijzelde Israëliërs heeft overgedragen.

Nadat AVROTROS er in 2024 voor zorgde dat we als Nederland niet mochten meedoen omdat we werden gediskwalificeerd, ontzegt AVROTROS nu onze deelname omdat het de eigen politieke opvattingen voorop zet. De Nederlandse televisiekijker is niets gevraagd.

CIDI herinnert AVROTROS eraan dat de Nederlandse televisiekijker de Israëlische inzending vorig jaar de meeste punten gaf.

Nu zie je dat de NOS vastloopt

Altijd maar Israël beschuldigen. Er is de afgelopen jaren nauwelijks berichtgeving geweest van de NOS waarin Israël niet als de kwade agressor is neergezet. De leugens van Hamas worden klakkeloos overgenomen als waarheden, zoals ‘meer dan 50.000 burgerslachtoffers, waarvan meer dan 70% vrouwen en kinderen’. Ieder weldenkend mens zal begrijpen dat dit helemaal niet kan, omdat Israël zich in deze oorlog vooral richt op de bloeddorstige, genocidale, onbeschrijflijk barbaarse terroristen van Hamas. In de lezing van de NOS/Hamas zijn er alleen maar lieflijke, onschuldige mensen gedood door Israël.

Maar nu loopt de NOS vast. Waarom? Omdat Israël nu ook oorlog voert tegen het dictatoriale islamistische regime van de ayatollahs in Iran, dat de bevolking al 46 jaar op een vreselijke wijze onderdrukt. Iedereen die goed geïnformeerd is weet dat een grote meerderheid van de Iraanse bevolking al vele jaren helemaal klaar is met dit schrikbewind. Jonge vrouwen die door de zedenpolitie zo mishandeld worden dat ze aan hun verwondingen overlijden, omdat ze hun hoofdbedekking niet hebben gedragen zoals de sharia wetgeving dat eist. Pogingen tot een omwenteling zijn gedaan, maar die worden met gigantisch misdadig geweld de kop ingedrukt. Daar is totaal geen vrijheid of democratie of wat we noemen een rechtsstaat.

In de verslaglegging over deze nieuwe oorlog tegen de militaire faciliteiten van deze nazi-staat, die ook voor Europa en Amerika een ernstige bedreiging vormt, voel je de spagaat waar de NOS zich nu in bevindt. Aan de ene kant iets laten doorschemeren van het kwade regime in Iran, en dat sommigen hopen op een revolutie in dat land, maar toch weer Israël in een kwaad daglicht zetten, door de beide partijen weer symmetrisch naast elkaar te zetten. Daarbij wordt dan weer naar Israël de zwarte piet toegeschoven, omdat zij nu ook deze oorlog zijn begonnen.

Als je Israël steunt in de oorlog tegen de religieuze gekken in Teheran, die vanuit hun jihadisme bereid zouden zijn een atoombom op Israël of Europa of Amerika te laten vallen, als ze die zouden hebben, dan kan je niet meer Israël afvallen in de oorlog tegen Hamas.

Daarom proef je nu het tandenknarsende in de berichtgeving van de NOS.

Al die mensen die gisteren weer in Den Haag tegen Israël hebben gedemonstreerd liepen daar samen met sympathisanten van de ayatollahs in Iran. De beelden daarvan zijn duidelijk. Ook PvdA/GroenLinks (en haar lijsttrekker) trekt nu dus op met ondersteuners van het islamisme.

Je bent gewoon voor of tegen Hamas/Khamenei/islamisme/terreur. Als je daartegen bent kan je Israël niet gaan demoniseren in hun oorlog tegen dit grote gevaar. Dat is het overduidelijk inconsequente van al die anti-Israël demonstraties. Deze demonstraties steunen terreur.

De geschiedenis bewijst dat een oorlog soms nodig is en daardoor ook rechtvaardig is. Soms moet een overheid van een land beslissen om in te grijpen om het kwaad in de wereld in te dammen. Ook het christendom heeft al vanaf het begin overwegend dit standpunt aangehangen.

De geallieerden hebben 80 jaar geleden met heel veel geweld - waarbij helaas ook heel veel burgerslachtoffers zijn gevallen - de tirannie van het nazisme verdreven. Ook nu moet de tirannie van het islamisme, wat aantoonbaar historische banden heeft met het nazisme van toen, verdreven worden.

Israël pakt het vuile werk nu aan. Velen in het Midden-Oosten begrijpen dat en zijn er dankbaar voor. Miljoenen Iraanse vluchtelingen van over de hele wereld zijn Israël dankbaar en bidden dat de revolutie nu eindelijk zal komen. Nu de nucleaire faciliteiten van Iran zijn uitgeschakeld is de wereld een veiligere plek geworden.

Maar de NOS en veel andere media, en die 150.000 mensen van gisteren in Den Haag, gaan door met het demoniseren van Israël, waardoor het antisemitisme verder toeneemt. Het getuigt van blindheid en een groot gebrek aan moreel onderscheidingsvermogen.

I listened yesterday to the Joe Rogan episode with that Cooper guy, and right away, I knew what I had to do.

I got in my car and drove straight to my 98-year-old grandmother’s house. You know, my grandmother—the one who lost her first husband, her little children, her parents, and every single one of her siblings in the Holocaust. The one who somehow crawled out of hell, rebuilt a life from nothing, and still wakes up at night with memories she can’t bring herself to talk about.

I had to go to her because, for nearly a century, she’s been living a lie. She’s been telling us these horrific, gruesome, gut-wrenching stories—about the Germans, painting them as if they were monsters, as if they were actually villains. But I just listened to someone who really knows his shit, and he made it crystal clear: we’ve all misunderstood them.

So, I sat her down. I took a deep breath, looked her in the eyes—those same eyes that have seen things I can’t even begin to comprehend—and I told her the truth.

“Grandma, enough. Enough with the fake grieving. Enough with the lies. For almost a hundred years, you’ve been poisoning people’s minds with your one-sided, manipulative sob story. But I just listened to an expert—a guy on a podcast, which, as we all know, is the highest form of truth and reality—and he set the record straight.

“Hitler and his people weren’t what you think they were. They weren’t cold-blooded murderers, genocidal maniacs, or ruthless butchers. No, Grandma, they were complicated. They had reasons. They had perspectives that, shockingly, you and your family never bothered to consider. Did you ever stop, in between watching your children being ripped from your arms, to ask yourself what they were going through? Did you ever think, while you were starving in Auschwitz, that maybe, just maybe, they felt misunderstood?

“I mean, sure, they rounded you up, packed you into trains like cattle, and sent you to a place designed to erase you from existence—but did you ever take a moment to see things from their point of view? Maybe they were under a lot of stress. Maybe they had economic struggles. Maybe they just needed you to pause for a second and acknowledge their pain. That’s all they asked for, Grandma. A little empathy. A little open-mindedness. And really, was that so much to give?”

After I finished, my grandmother—like a typical Jew, and like every Holocaust survivor who just won’t let things go—reacted with horror and anger. But I stopped her right there. I reminded her that, these days, canceling and shutting down uncomfortable ideas only makes it seem like there is some kind of Jewish supremacy. And I wasn’t about to let her cancel me, so I left...

Ten bad takeaways from the Zelenskyy blow-up

1. Zelenskyy does not grasp—or deliberately ignores—the bitter truth: those with whom he feels most affinity (Western globalists, the American Left, the Europeans) have little power in 2025 to help him. And those with whom he obviously does not like or seeks to embarrass (cf. his Scranton, Penn. campaign-like visit in September 2024) alone have the power to save him. For his own sake, I hope he is not being “briefed” by the Obama-Clinton-Biden gang to confront Trump, given their interests are not really Ukraine’s as they feign.

2. Zelenskyy acts as if his agendas and ours are identical. So, he keeps insisting that he is fighting for us despite our two-ocean-distance that he mocks. We do have many shared interests with Ukraine, but not all by any means: Trump wants to “reset” with Russia and triangulate it against China. He seeks to avoid a 1962 DEFCON 2-like crisis over a proxy showdown in proximity to a nuclear rival. And he sincerely wants to end the deadlocked Stalingrad slaughterhouse for everyone’s sake.

3. The Europeans (and Canada) are now talking loudly of a new muscular antithesis, independent of the U.S. Promises, promises—given that would require Europeans to prune back their social welfare state, frack, use nuclear, stop the green obsessions, and spend 3-5 percent of their GDP on defense. The U.S. does not just pay 16 percent of NATO’s budget but also puts up with asymmetrical tariffs that result in a European Union trade surplus of $160 billion, plays the world cop patrolling sea-lanes and deterring terrorists and rogues states that otherwise might interrupt Europe’s commercial networks abroad, as well as de facto including Europe under a nuclear umbrella of 6,500 nukes.

4. Zelenskyy must know that all of the once deal-stopping issues to peace have been de facto settled: Ukraine is now better armed than most NATO nations, but will not be in NATO; and no president has or will ever supply Ukraine with the armed wherewithal to take back the Donbass and Crimea. So, the only two issues are a) how far will Putin be willing to withdraw to his 2022 borders and b) how will he be deterred? The first is answered by a commercial sector/tripwire, joint Ukrainian-US-Europe resource development corridor in Eastern Ukraine, coupled with a Korea-like DMZ; the second by the fact that Putin unlike his 2008 and 2014 invasions has now lost a million dead and wounded to a Ukraine that will remain thusly armed.

5. What are Zelenskyy’s alternatives without much U.S. help—wait for a return of the Democrats to the White House in four years? Hope for a rearmed Europe? Pray for a Democratic House and a 3rd Vindman-like engineered Trump impeachment? Or swallow his pride, return to the White House, sign the rare-earth minerals deal, invite in the Euros (are they seriously willing to patrol a DMZ?), and hope Trump can warn Putin, as he did successfully between 2017-21, not to dare try it again?

6. If there is a cease fire, a commercial deal, a Euro ground presence, and influx of Western companies into Ukraine, would there be elections? And if so, would Zelenskyy and his party win? And if not, would there be a successor transparent government that would reveal exactly where all the Western financial aid money went?

7. Zelenskyy might see a model in Netanyahu. The Biden Administration was far harder on him than Trump is on Ukraine: suspending arms shipments, demanding cease-fires, prodding for a wartime, bipartisan cabinet, hammering Israel on collateral damage—none of which Westerners have demanded of Zelenskyy. Yet Netanyahu managed a hostile Biden, kept Israel close to its patron, and when visiting was gracious to his host. Netanyahu certainly would never before the global media have interrupted, and berated a host and patron president in the White House.

8. If Ukraine has alienated the U.S. what then is its strategic victory plan? Wait around for more Euros? Hold off an increasingly invigorated Russian military? Cede more territory? What, then, exactly are Zelenskyy’s cards he seems to think are a winning hand?

9. If one views carefully all the 50-minute tape, most of it was going quite well—until Zelenskyy started correcting Vance firstly, and Trump secondly. By Ukraine-splaining to his hosts, and by his gestures, tone, and interruptions, he made it clear that he assumed that Trump was just more of the same compliant, clueless moneybags Biden waxen effigy. And that was naïve for such a supposedly worldly leader.

10. March 2025 is not March 2022, after the heroic saving of Kyiv—but three years and 1.5 million dead and wounded later. Zelenskyy is no longer the international heartthrob with the glamorous entourage. He has postponed elections, outlawed opposition media and parties, suspended habeas corpus and walked out of negotiations when he had an even hand in Spring 2022 and apparently even now when he does not in Spring 2025.
