Jesus protested those who by their greedy and bigoted selling obstructed people—including unbelievers (Gentiles, cf. Mk 11:17; Isa 56:7)—from prayer and worship.

The only ones selling anything at @citieschurch on January 18th were the so-called “protesters.”

Their use of strong-arm sales tactics on behalf of their ideology prevented members, attendees, and visitors from praying and worshiping.

By His actions, Jesus made it easier for people to worship at the temple. By their actions, the “protesters” made it far more difficult for people to worship, if not impossible.

Even worse than the money-changers in the temple, and totally unlike Jesus, the “protesters” entered the church building under false pretenses, feigning to be peaceful visitors by taking seats in the pews.

Also worse than the money-changers and unlike Jesus, they traumatized children, slandered the innocent, and broke the law.

By going there to tell the worshipers what “bad” people they were, the “protesters” demonstrated how utterly unlike Jesus they are, how much like the bigoted money-changers they are, and thus what bad people they themselves actually are.

And now, @ShaneClaiborne is setting up his own little money-changer table here on X, trying to get you to trade the truth about Jesus for lies about Him and His word.

Last week while taking down Christmas lights, I lost control and fell off the roof. I broke my ankle in three places and fractured my T12 vertebrae.
