Anak Krakatau volcano in Indonesia has been raised to Level II (Alert) after showing increased activity.
Monitoring has detected rising SOโ emissions, heat signs, ash coming from the crater, and a noticeable increase in volcanic earthquakes, suggesting magma is moving closer to the surface.
People are being told to stay at least 2km away from the crater and be aware of possible hazards including ashfall, lava, volcanic rocks and hot clouds.
For now itโs not at the highest alert level, but the volcano is being closely watched.
