Powerful words from a FL inmate, serving a life sentence under the FMR, for a crime he never committed. In case anyone was wondering why we need cj reform ❤️🩹

Please say a little extra prayer today for those behind the wall and those of us missing them...
They are forever in our thoughts and our hearts...❤💙❤💙
If you live in FL, vote and pay taxes, don't you care to know how your tax $ are being spent? We're not advocating for change to just send people home, we're advocating for change because it's the right thing to do. An idea whose time has come. https://t.co/EDIRz8qUB2
Just a glimpse into how some of our lawmakers are spending taxpayer $$. Be sure when you go to vote in 2022, you do your homework first to see what's important to those we elect.
This top Florida official spent $391,000 on office furniture https://t.co/yZiL6YpZcr
I believe good leadership IS doing what's right, despite the odds and if those already elected aren't willing to step up to that, then time to consider other candidates. I can't speak for all but I want to know my tax $ are being well spent and vote for those who will step up!
Leadership is standing up for what's right and having the integrity to do it. So many lives wasting away and not many elected leaders seem to want to stand up to the challenges at hand to fix the problems.
I have a question...what exactly is the Department of Corrections supposed to be "correcting"? With massive overcrowding, funding for programs cut, people sleeping on floors, horrible food, no preparation for life on the outside, what exactly is being corrected? I'll wait...⏰
Dear @GovStitt , the life of Julius Jones rests in your hands. Please save his life, grant him the ability to hug his momma and make up for the 22 years already served for a crime he did not commit. #justiceforjulius

@PillowConcrete I don't think it takes true leadership, it takes true honesty and do the right things. We have too many Indians and very little true chiefs.
That would require them to bring parole back to Florida, a whole other legislative move in itself. It's been gone over 30 years so not an easy task. That's something we would need true leaders to do...🙄
@ucf87cpa Well ,the system has many prisoners ready for parole, start doing the work of getting this people on the road. They have the facts but don't want to do what it takes to solve this. As simple as that.
The RHRA bill that would have capped lesser participants involved in a crime, who harmed no one, but a death occurred, at 15 years, was shared with a handful of legislators who chose to ignore it and no sponsorship...😔
@JeffreyBrandes@senpizzo @KeithPerryFL #endFMR
We have a great bill to address #FMR. Ryan Holle Reform Act
#RHRA. Question is why no legislators are willing to sponsor a bill that corrects such injustice?
Too controversial? How can correcting injustice be controversial?? No one should get LWOP for someone else's crime!
Why is there such incompetence when it comes to our loved ones? So prisons are being closed for numerous reasons and no one is paying attention to where inmates are being sent? What happened at Hardee could have been prevented 😡
How much more do our leaders in charge need to see or hear before they help bring the change we've all been fighting for? How many more lives will be risked before they wake up and FIX the problem, instead of pointing fingers??
@FLHouseofReps@FLSenate@ChrisSprowls
.@GovStitt Oklahoma cannot execute an innocent man. Please save Julius Jones’ life and commute his sentence to life with the possibility of parole. #JusticeforJulius
Sadly, there have been lawmakers that have visited prisons and STILL no changes or meaningful cj reform bills passed. They've been warned numerous times about DOC being at crisis level and STILL no help. It's simply time to do the right thing...😔
Let's hope our House of Reps passes cj reform bills as readily as our Senate does. After that, it would be on the Governor to sign it🤞
He doesn't seem too concerned with cj reform in the least and does nothing for inmates or our prisons 😔
@senpizzo@FL_Corrections Ahhh this girl just said it all and made me realize what his visit is all about .....Imagine that... .@GovRonDeSantis
FIRST visit to a prison in Florida. Just before an election year. So transparent. Too little, WAY TOO LATE. He gets NO kudos from me. Good day, sir.
