Good point. I’m not saying citizens don’t have the right to vote but acquiring an ID is easy even for non drivers every state offers a Real ID for non drivers. Now registering to vote will require more than just an ID. However every citizen registered to vote would not need to prove citezenship. Future people registering to vote will have to provide more documentation.

@Oceanbreeze473 Also every state has a non drivers ID especially for disabled, blind, and those that just don’t drive. So everyone can get a form of ID and if they don’t have the motivation to get one they probably shouldn’t be voting anyway.

@ViewDownHere @RepHoulahan Good point but technically they should not be eligible to register to vote. Are many I’m sure. All I’m saying is as a legal registered voter an ID will do. You don’t have to prove citizenship to vote you need to to register to vote.

The Real ID definitely does if you are already a registered citizen voter. Proof of citizenship is required to register. I had to take my daughter’s birth certificate when she got her drivers license and her Real ID. This act makes it more cumbersome to register to vote once registered a valid ID then would be required.

@RepHoulahan There is no way that’s accurate. The TSA requires a real ID to fly so there’s no way only five States offer a real ID. And every state offers non driving State IDs.
