@PilotsforRTA@ALPAPilots How scorched will the mass of younger ALPA members be should the federal suit lead to civil damages and another round of a$$e$$ments because of leadership missteps?!
This is the time for @Delta_Pilots to engage their LEC candidates, as elections are underway for 1/3 of the MEC. Our tendency for low participation and little real contact with candidates results in a union leadership too often out of step with the membership.
Truth is that @alpa is CONTRIBUTING to the biggest ever threat to newer pilots’ career - Reduced Crew Operations - by choking down quality aviator availability to the industry. #AI looms! #LetExperiencedPilotsFly
This vacation pay error episode amplifies how Delta continues to struggle with vital IT, most especially where it pertains to serving/honoring our PWA. What is not discussed by our MEC is how the best response may be to insist on embedded union SMEs to oversee/ensure compliance.
Union #politics are just a minor league copy of the national game. One aspect is the CREATING of constituent “issues” to develop election support. Pilot retirement age is just such an animal. @ALPA getting caught in DC making up facts to sell it tho, is a REAL pilot career threat
FOLLOW @PilotsforRTA and see the real policy background and facts about the public, industry and our professional need to modernize the FAR Part 121 pilot age standard. #aviation
Sponsored by major nations and industry groups, and opposed by NO Member States, the call within @ICAO to raise or eliminate its airline pilot retirement age limit has been moved forward at the 14th Air Navigation Conference in Montreal. https://t.co/QklnhbClt3
If we were of any special influence, the chaos of this platform and media might be worth putting up with. Just a few years and it’s a grossly different place. Best wishes to everyone associated with @Delta in the working & consumer spaces, and to Delta’s pilots and the profession
December holiday air travel question: When weather disrupts systems, and extra air crews are needed, will pending pilot contracts that *might* pass and bear fruit next Spring be enough to entice overworked aviators to answer those calls?

Historically, actual @Delta_Pilots scheduling improvements lag even behind their agreed-to implementation plan. Given the significant “no concessions” PWA Section 23 package in the forthcoming TA, the timeline to first-step ratification is critical to pilots’ net-value analysis.
ETE: Sound language is essential to contract integrity, but, notes our former union negotiator, “four to six weeks seems more like “holiday office hours” when the AIP already exhibits retro shortfall and pay raises just above inflation. Pilots want to see the details.
Latest mention of the potential @Delta_Pilots contract ratification timeline is found in this week’s (Dec 8) Delta MEC News, indicating 4-6 weeks just to produce contract language & portending ratification, pay raise, scheduling improvements & payout dates delayed well into 2023.
Indeed! The Global Scope Agreement TA is designed to improve the realization of @Delta_Pilots stake in @Delta JVs by ending individual piecemeal balance schemes and guaranteeing paid positions and hours relative to all our international partners.
Our entire profession is moving on transformative contracts at the same time. So it’s more important than ever for everyone involved to keep in touch. Share the news that anyone can go online to https://t.co/4c7zbg5y3d to scroll through our entire history.
In practice, contracts define activities, responsibilities and sharing of benefits between parties. In character, they are the embodiment of mutual mistrust.
Contract language is THE essential next step to moving things forward, putting the TA into the hands of the unions representatives and pilots for consideration, discussion and debate.
@S_mcbroom@Delta_Pilots All 2023 pilot income will apply toward their individual percentage PS calculation (relative to total employee payroll). So the longer it takes for pay raises to go into effect, the less total ‘23 income & lower profit share each pilot will receive 2/14/2024 (as well as less DC).
Alongside consternation about the @Delta_Pilots AIP non-“full retro pay”, members are raising questions as to whether an especially long or politically embroiled ratification process will deny them raises, 401K (DC) contribution and profit share applicability through 1Q23.
“Every major pilot contract is at about the same point,” CA Dennis Tajer said. “The number one demand, when you aggregate them together … work-life balance, scheduling practices.”
