@Kempfnna@Red_Mage23 yeah that was why I said I was sure, I got no proof of it but I feel I'm on the right track.
But thanks for being chill with me catching my own mistake.
@Kempfnna@Red_Mage23 Yeah sorry about all that.
My thoughts on infinite rewind in general still remain, and I do think there should be three difficulties at launch and named properly. I should know this by now but still feel deceived by it.
@Kempfnna@Red_Mage23 I think we could have avoided half the mess if someone pointed out earlier I was wrong and that there was no mode Easy, but the fact that no one did that makes me believe I was far from the only one to think there was an Easy since there's Normal and Hard
@Kempfnna@Red_Mage23 Yeah sure. That's still a fair fault to have with the series, and I'm sure it's due to devs fearing people are too prideful to pick something Easy, and the latest games lazily shipping without the hardest mode.
tbf the game I started with, Sacred Stones, had Easy Normal Hard.
@Kempfnna 20 Rewinds is still a lot to mess around with assuming you use no other blessings (why would you, you're given a literal undo button!)
but my brain kinda just assumed there'd be an Easy because the first thing I see is "Normal". They need to properly name difficulties.
@Kempfnna Not really, rewinds aren't restricted to deaths. If someone missed an 80% attack, no they didn't that never happened, now I'll use a combat art and see it hit all along. You can abuse the hell out of it because it's infinite.
Rewind is brute forcing for everybody! Yay!
@Kempfnna@Red_Mage23 To be completely honest with you I forgot there were only two difficulties in the game.
That doesn't excuse Normal being easy, difficulties should be named appropriately.
@Kempfnna@Red_Mage23 This conversation isn't even about classic vs casual, that's a single choice at the start of the game.
I'm just saying maybe if you aren't playing on the babiest of modes, you shouldn't be given infinite rewinds.
@Kempfnna@Red_Mage23 No. There have been long maps in past in games that don't have mid-map save points. We handled them fine.
Permadeath IS a major thing in Fire Emblem specifically, since Day 1.
I don't care who it puts off from playing, I care more about identity and integrity.
@Kempfnna@Red_Mage23 Yes, because Normal isn't Easy. It should be a middle of the road difficulty. I should run into a few challenges here or there, even if it's not entirely challenging. It should be the middle of the two, not "Easy but sliiiiightly less so."
@Kempfnna@Red_Mage23 You just said it was never hard, so it's fine. "A more chill experience" I dunno what to tell you, Easy Mode is right there. That is the chill experience. Swallow your pride and pick it.
@Kempfnna@Red_Mage23 and yes, you should be punished by restarting the map (if you want to take your time save the unit assuming it's not a lord), that's what creates the tension and allows for more varied play in the first place. Messing up had consequences.
@Kempfnna@Red_Mage23 That's not an excuse. If people didn't care about difficulty and just want story, pick Easy. Normal shouldn't also be baby mode to accomidate people's pride. What's next, Hard Mode also gets infinite rewinds next game?
@Kempfnna@Red_Mage23 I played on Normal, which should be the median intended experience. I shouldn't have to go to Hard for the infinite you can't lose mechanic to not be infinite.
@Kempfnna@Red_Mage23 No one is arguing against rewinding existing, people are arguing about it being infinite (on Normal, it should really only be that on Easy. Which is what people should be playing on if they don't care about difficulty and just want to see story, but are too prideful to pick EASY)
