Amb Pifer noted that 🇷🇺 committed “to respect Ukraine's sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence and not use or threaten to use force against Ukraine.”
Why would anyone trust 🇷🇺 in new negotiations?
What could 🇷🇺 possibly offer that 🇷🇺 hasn’t already breached ?
28 years ago today, as part of arrangements to eliminate former-Soviet nuclear weapons in #Ukraine, #Russia committed in Budapest Memorandum to respect Ukraine's sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence and not use or threaten to use force against Ukraine.
@PiperK Has there been any other White House administration that has had as many pro - 🇷🇺 personnel serving in senior positions ?
Even if we reduce it to the only those who have direct experience with russian networks or family members with experience, it’s still over represented.
He’s so out of sync with the rest of America.
That recent Pew poll, from a couple of months ago, had one result that wasn’t widely reported; it was a three choice poll, do you view russia as a competitor, or enemy, or as a partner.
Like all their questions, about 3% didn’t respond, but for the people who responded, it was quite eye opening.
Of the people who responded to that, 93%, viewed russia as an adversary of some sort of adversary ( they picked either competitor or enemy ).
Only 7% saw russia as a partner. Trump is in that tiny group.
You guys have been remarkable.
I wonder if it makes sense to contact folk who could take over Aughinish plant if Rusal ultimately abdicates their responsibility to the Irish people, IMHO, it’s either Alcoa or Glencore.
For example, Alcoa could run the plant, they mine from the same area in Guinea, so that’s vertical integration. However, I seem to recall they are trying to reduce their footprint in the EU. Nonetheless, adding Gallium and Vanadium extraction skids to allow access to EU critical minerals program, might offset some of their concerns, and make it a team with CRH / Irish Cement to help with the red mud.
Likewise Glencore might be willing for the Alumina primarily, but better yet, either a consortium with someone like CRH / Irish Cement for the red mud and someone like Mytilineos for the side stream extractions.
By the way, I don’t think Rusal really has a plan for all that red mud waste, it’s 50-ish million tonnes. They’re just gonna keep on dumping it.
That being said, the right partner who is willing to extract the critical minerals from the mud might be able to help, and Ireland would probably make sure they’re required to also convert it into ‘gray’ mud. Rusal’s only plan is to dig a bigger pit.
- Kaja Kallas says:
If Russia truly wants peace, it should accept responsibility for the damage caused in Ukraine, return deported Ukrainian children and ensure accountability for war crimes..."
I couldn't agree more....this is true!
An appropriate post from Zelensky on the anniversary of D-Day. Nothing from Trump. Which is appropriate, since Zelensky is a fighter against tyranny, unlike Trump.
Good man…..Ex-Google CEO is key to Ukraine's most formidable drone weapon to date - $5000 Hornet can carry 5Kg of explosives on a 200Km, one-way trip

Gen. Wesley Clark: Putin is trapped. He sees no way out that preserves his survival as Russia’s leader, so he keeps pushing and hopes Trump’s friendship, Chinese help, Iranian help and U.S. distraction will cut support to Ukraine until Ukraine somehow collapses. 1/
@Beefeater_Fella@BaddCompani For some reason Apple likes russia, even Apple TV programming has shows that try to normalize russia or reinforce certain russia tropes of “mysterious russia”, etc.
Great interview, great guys and a truly great cause you can get behind at https://t.co/7GzcdfzKaH
On a side note if you'd like to get to know the man behind the mission I highly recommend Ryan's autobiography, Tip Of The Spear. A first hand account of the devastation IEDs cause
