@MarathonDevTeam The PvE elements feel flat, even with season 2 additions. AI enemies in Arc feel more "alive" by comparison, especially with their movement through the map. Ex. Husks just stand stationary until aggro'd. They could stalk players and/or restrain them, like Ticks in Arc.
@sam_gzstrength@SS_strength Going on 6+ years since I built my home gym in December 2019. I do miss the comraderie and atmosphere of a public gym at times, but the convenience and personalization is tough to beat.
@stvrboy@GoblinLootLord@Arrrrash It isn't about loot loss, it is about game complexity. Tarkov has far more depth in ammo types and armor, whereas Marathon leans closer toward Arc. There aren't enough cores and implants for meaningful variety.
@M_Wiggin@EX_karibaa@StillHazoDDD Silence Suzuka was sadly euthanized shortly after. He suffered a severe fracture that was effectively untreatable. :(
@SS_strength As further consideration, how much more might we expect Jen Thompson to lift if she gained 20lbs or 30lbs additional body weight? Does the phrase "weight classes are height classes in disguise" apply here?
@SS_strength Can you delve into differing physiological adaptations between lifters? Jen Thompson as reference, what differentiates her from others? I suspect we could find a more muscular male who could not bench as much as her. Is nueromuscular efficiency our only variable other than mass?
@Dolfijnmanjohns The brethren moons get folded in the 40k universe.
They are basically farmers that use the black marker's psychic influence to cultivate sentient life to propagate over thousands of years.
Even then, Isaac and John killed a moon by themselves by punching it (with a planet).
@sam_gzstrength From my understanding of the SS literature, accessories are an incidental inevitability once the main lifts cannot be progressed each session.
Wouldn't training level be the factor here, rather than absolute weight of the accessory exercise?
@wolfstrength@ReynoldsSTRONG@BarbellLogic I have had success pressing in the low 200s with both methods, though I definitely notice myself struggling on latter reps with the 2.0.
Would you show preference for one style, or are both useful tools for a dedicated presser?
@BowTiedWellness@wolfstrength It is easier to teach someone correctly the first time, compared to trying to combat poor habits.
Even *if* we accept the notion that novice lifters can get away with suboptimal form, the fact remains that as weight increases, necessity for optimal movement also increases.
@hollowearthterf I recall a study supporting this notion.
Tldr: Women, on average, report rape as being notably more psychologically distressing than bodily harm or murder.
The context discussed this anxiety as an adaptive evolutionary mechanism.
@datepsych Essentially we are looking at the reinforcement of these respective neurological pathways, yes?
Rather than developing a mental buffer between emotional impulse and action, the ventilationist ethic encourages the immediate emotion > reaction dynamic.
@wolfstrength It's faster and thinner so I can knock back 2+ scoops without making a whole ordeal out of it. π€·π»ββοΈ
IMO it's preferable to the folks who try dress up their shakes with frozen fruit and such.
