We've talked about what I'm building and who I need to reach next. Now that Boardy is on iMessage, I want to keep that conversation going and see where it leads.

Ronald Acuña Jr. missed 50+ games and STILL is in the 20/20 club. He’s the best in the game when he’s on the field. There’s no one better to lead this team into October. #BravesCountry

Not just special teams.

This is legitimately one of the greatest football plays I’ve ever seen.

It doesn’t get much better than that right there. Every coach in America will be showing this rep to their team this week.

Imagine if we all had a teammate like Ronald Acuna Jr. I'd round 3rd and chug headfirst into home plate whether I needed to or not! Put this clip in the dictionary under "pure joy." I could watch it every morning. #Braves

I reread this every year.

I cry like a baby every year.

Todd Beamer died a father, husband, and hero.

Todd: Hello… Operator… listen to me. I can’t speak very loud. This is an emergency. I’m a passenger on a United flight to San Francisco. Our plane has been hijacked.

Lisa: I understand. Can they see you?

Todd: No. There are three that we know of. They have knives — razor knives, like box cutters. Someone announced from the cockpit there was a bomb. It sounded fake.

Lisa: Your name?Todd: Todd Beamer. United Flight 93.Todd: They killed one passenger in first class. They forced most of us back. Fourteen of us here. Five flight attendants. The guy with the bomb ordered us to sit on the floor.

Lisa: Are you okay?

Todd: We’re going down… wait. No. We’re leveling off. We changed directions. We’re flying east again.

Todd: A guy named Jeremy called his wife. She told him two planes hit the World Trade Center. Lisa, is that true?

Lisa: I have to tell you the truth. It’s very bad. Both towers are gone. A third plane hit the Pentagon. Our country is under attack. I’m afraid your plane may be part of their plan.

Todd: Oh God. Lisa, will you do something for me? Call my wife and my kids. Promise me you’ll call.

Lisa: I promise.

Todd: Our home number is… You have the same name as my wife. Lisa. We’ve been married ten years. She’s pregnant with our third child. Tell her I love her. I’ll always love her. We have two boys — David, he’s 3, and Andrew, he’s 1. Tell them their daddy loves them and he is so proud of them. The baby is due January 12th. I saw an ultrasound. We still don’t know if it’s a girl or a boy.

Lisa: I’ll tell them. I promise, Todd.(Lisa patches in the FBI.)

Agent: Todd, your plane is on a course for Washington. Best guess is the White House or the Capitol.

Todd: I understand. I’ll be back.

Todd: Everyone knows this isn’t a normal hijacking. We have decided we will not be pawns in their plot.

Lisa: What are you going to do?

Todd: Four of us are going to rush the one with the bomb. Then the cockpit. A stewardess is getting boiling water. We’ll take them out.

Todd: Would you pray with me?They pray the Lord’s Prayer. Then: Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for thou art with me.

Todd: God help me. Jesus help me.Are you guys ready? Let’s Roll.

@MissionVlyMafia What evidence shows that SportsNet LA would have gone under without the Guggenheim-affiliated insurer loans? Is there a financial statement, covenant, or other document showing the network couldn't meet its obligations without that financing?

Sales exec quotas are up in 2026. They sort of have to be, since comp (OTE) is up, too.

Per @ICONIQCapital's latest GTM survey, quotas at top quartile start-ups:

- Enterprise: $2.25M
- Mid-Market: $1.35M
- SMB: $750K

Three years ago, $1.8M enterprise was aggressive. Now it's median. Here's why it matters.

1/ Deal economics shifted. Logos that were mid-market three years ago are now enterprise. The GTM bar moved up. Quotas follow.

2/ AI pipeline generation actually works. Companies embedding AI in marketing and SDRs are seeing 10+ point conversion lifts at the top. More pipeline = higher quota. Not punishment. Capacity.

3/ Hunter-farmer model came back hard. In 2026, 65% of high performers have AEs owning cross-sell (vs 49% of others). 55% own upsell. 37% own renewals. AEs now own the full lifecycle. Quotas had to move.

4/ Attainment at leaders is 85-90%. That's not tight quotas. That's a different operating model.

Normal sales orgs hit 55-65% attainment. Leaders are at 85-90%. The gap isn't luck. It's pipeline generation, territory design, and rep quality.

5/ If you're planning enterprise AE comp for 2026, $2.25M quota is the new baseline. But you need:

- 3x-4x pipeline behind it
- Territory modeling (not just geography)
- Rep quality bar high enough to sustain 85%+ attainment
- Comp that ties to expansion (33% NRR, 23% NDR)

Without all four, the quota breaks. With all four, the gap between you and everyone else compounds.

What's with the Saudi insecurity?
Where did I show any obsession with Saudi Arabia?
Four countries -- Saudi, Egypt, Pakistan, Turkey -- held a meeting on Iran War. I said the first three are weightless. The fourth is preparing to inherit whatever Iran loses.
How is this perspective an obsession?
If Saudi Arabia wants to show weight and toughness, NOW is the time.
Why does Saudi spend $80 billion on its defense budget a year (Israel spends $50 billion)?
Late King Fahed was the only strong king. He engineered the US campaign to liberate Kuwait despite protest from his CP and other princes. MBS showed similar toughness in 2015, but Iran took the wind out of his sails and he's been lingering in nowhere since 2022. I've been cheering for Saudi policy since 2015. When their policy fizzled, I called them out for it. This is how analysis of policy works.
Where is my obsession? I analyze trends and patterns, compare them to history, for a living. This is as respectful as any post on Saudi Arabia can be. Sorry if Saudis expect me to "hail the chief." They've got plenty of those and don't need me.

Traditional SaaS is dead.

I asked Claude to vibe code a Docusign replacement.

6 hours and 450k lines of code later it built a drag-and-drop PDF signer, initials stamps, and a very satisfying “signature complete” animation.

So, the first 45 contracts we used it for auto-selected governing law at random. Every agreement is void. We lost $473K in bookings and I have in-person courts dates in 18 countries over the next week.

But, man, was the dynamic completion checkmark graphic sick.

@JustinmTurpin 5 year, $304m contract. Such a sacrifice!

How Carter enabled the Shah's fall and how the Western media embraced Khomeini as the next Gandhi

The Shah's fall in 1979 reveals how Iran has a singular place in the western mind. In 1978, as the revolution gained momentum, the shah was denounced as the most evil tyrant while Ayatollah Khomeini was hailed by many westerners as a grandfatherly pacifist. Khomeini was a sly tactician, inscrutable, grim and murderous, who gathered a coalition of leftists, liberals and Islamists and played the western media brilliantly.

The bewildered President Carter negotiated secretly with Khomeini. This week, the BBC published documents revealing that in return for America stopping the Iranian army from crushing the revolt, Khomeini promised Carter “we are not in any particular animosity with the Americans”, and that he would sell them oil and “restore the constitution”. Carter responded “we do not say the constitution cannot be changed” — allowing Khomeini to take power.

US diplomats said he was “like Gandhi”; Foucault hailed him as a “saint”. In The New York Times, the Princeton professor Richard Falk wrote that Khomeini’s “depiction as fanatical reactionary and the bearer of crude prejudices seems happily false”; his entourage was “uniformly composed of moderate progressives” with a “notable record for human rights”; and his “popular revolution” would “provide us with a desperately needed model of humane governance for the Third World.”
