Gov. Kay Ivey issued a proclamation Wednesday designating Aug. 1, 2026, as Will Roberts Day in Alabama, honoring a teenager who died last week after a long battle with stage four bone cancer.

William “Will” Roberts, 15, of Ralph, died Thursday, July 23.
