@chrisdmowrey@harryjsisson Just going to pop into these comments to say thank you for sharing your thoughts, and I apologize for those on here that have forgotten how to treat others with respect.
@SenBobForehead@krassenstein@GypsyD24 Watch the TV show called the West Wing. It goes into detail while the President's family needs security, along with an example of what would happen if the security fails. To start, how would we as a nation, react if a foreign national were to murder a Presidential family member?
@robbystarbuck@BarackObama "Educators read diverse books so that they can better understand their colleagues, students, and families they serve," it said. "The books here are not recommended for students."

Please, do some research before posting hateful comments in public. There was never any intent for children to read that story.
@BartemyS@BarackObama I was wondering, do you have sources for where these books were placed in the children's section at a school or public library? I'd be eager to learn more. If it was, was it a single instance, or is it common to have those books in that area of libraries?
Today, some of the books that shaped my life—and the lives of so many others—are being challenged by people who disagree with certain ideas or perspectives. And librarians are on the front lines, fighting every day to make the widest possible range of viewpoints, opinions, and ideas available to everyone.
@edward1993@HoidtheHopper@alx So... the format of making a post with thread replies has been around long before Twitter. In fact, I believe Twitter was marketed as being the "short" post version. Imagine trying to claim Microsoft OneDrive is intellectual property theft because cloud storage existed before...
@us_sean @1impossible_grl@Chasten There's a wonderful old phrase that the pen is mightier than the sword. It is odd to see the written word spoken about with such derision. I don't see the shame or cowardice in clarifying your position about current events in writing.
I’m angry but I’m also running errands with my kids. I’ll respond to SCOTUS when I catch my breath. Remember to log off and breathe when you need to. The battles aren’t won in comment sections. We’re in this together.
As clear as it gets….Justice Elena Kagan writes dissent in student loan case: “From the first page to the last, today’s opinion departs from the demands of judicial restraint. At the behest of a party that has suffered no injury, the majority decides a contested public policy issue properly belonging to the politically accountable branches and the people they represent.”
@christgnosis@kylegriffin1 It's comments like this that are concerning... It's like saying oppression of women can't be on the rise because there are laws against it. Parts of society are fickle, and groups are feeling emboldened to speak and act in cruel ways to many groups that don't fit their ideologies
“No one is teaching your kids to be gay,” she told the room. “Sometimes, they just are gay. I have math to teach. I literally don’t have time to teach your kids to be gay.” https://t.co/uyFyQt1fUS
@FredSchmidt4@N_Tys26 There is no such thing as protected speech in general non-government terms. There is only what speech cannot be said that can have legal consequences, such as hate speech, purposefully putting people in harms way (yelling FIRE in a crowd when there is no fire), death threats, etc
LGBTQI+ Americans are defiantly and unapologetically proud – and my Administration will always stand with them in the enduring struggle for freedom, justice, and equality.
When one group’s dignity and equality are threatened, we all suffer.
@KeiferStreet@BlizzardCS It may be hard to imagine, but these things tend to happen when technology is involved. A lot of scenarios can be predicted and accounted for... but there's always something that can, and will likely, go awry. It's still early days. Give them a chance to fix it =)
Hands down the best part of the season 1 release in @playnewworld is Spicy Meatball Marius 🔥 All good dungeon bosses make players sweat and swear in equal measure, so managing to somehow 2 man him with just healer me and the last standing DPS was euphoric 😅 #PlayNewWorld#ad
@davidhogg111 People are going a bit silly arguing back and forth about the interpretation of the 2nd Amendment. Truth is... Societal and technological advancement have made the 230 year old amendment about weapons pretty outdated. Should we be applying rules made for muskets to auto-rifles?
