@battleangelviv It should read “are you prepared to accept the real implications of what quantum theory purports?” But yeah probably more succinct to just say “believe” 😅
@arjunkhemani@elevenlabs This is amazing!
Do you think you could do the same with this lecture that David gave? The audio quality is just crackly enough to be slightly off putting but the message is, just… peak David ❤️

David Deutsch didn't narrate the audiobook of my favorite book, 'The Beginning of Infinity.
So I cloned his voice from sources available online and used @elevenlabs to narrate the entire book for me in his voice.
Problems are soluble indeed.
@elonmusk In one of the recent updates (the one where Spotify got a mini-refresh), one undocumented change was the sound quality improvements. A massive increase in overall quality! Surprised not many people noticed. Thanks engineers!
@VivekGRamaswamy Remember, there is no natural environment for humans to survive *without* knowledge on how to.
Not genetic knowledge; the type of knowledge that has explanatory power and is created using conjecture and honed for truth by criticism.
Explanations are the beginning of infinity
@VivekGRamaswamy The point to any of this, no matter your side of fence is: when the climate is doing something that impacts humanity (*whatever the cause*), what tools do we have at our disposal to change it to be more habitable for humans?
Knowledge on *how* to change it is all that matters.
@ianmiles One thing is important in these discussions: Understanding the opposing views argument.
In order for you to know that *your* idea is better, you need to understand *their* argument as good as, if not, better than them. Otherwise you can get trapped like this person seems to be.
@aryehazan Just that some people think that their criterion for shutting down roads wouldn't, if generally adopted, lead to a permanent shutdown of roads, because their grievance is the last one that will ever arise because there is universal agreement on everything else that's important.
@jamestaylor_io@TeslaOwnersUK@teslaeurope@Tesla Odd. Because when I drove there with my Y the beams adapted to right hand drive. I even drove directly behind an EU MY in a runner and we had the *exact* same beam pattern on the walls.
@ernsterlanson@DavidDeutschOxf If there’s a theory that says there’s a “barrier”, the problem will become why there even is a barrier. Or why is the barrier there and not here?
Our understanding of cosmology in the deep future (tens or hundreds of billions of years) is still changing on a timescale of decades.
There are currently no uncontroversial theories of its details, nor of the further future after that.
@SteakFrankhouse I mean, you’re purposefully choosing a not so flattering picture against a render.
This picture here is better (and looks similar to the prototype render..)
@RichardDawkins@DavidDeutschOxf can you do some of these types of clips? I think the world needs to hear more from someone who actually understands epistemology. 🙏🏼
@reddit_lies Whoever runs this account. Its clear you will look down on anything posted on Reddit because “reddit scum”. I argue you should start looking at the content of the argument than where it’s from. Opposing a religion is not bad in and of itself, so long as they have a good argument.
