Middle of the road, kind, reasonably well-read…like many: bewildered to find I’m now on the far right.
unrepentant science, nature & space flight nerd. 😉
It seems that anyone creating a new account on X is now immediately branded a ‘bot’.
My old account was literally throttled by X so I ended up locked out of any threads-so in August I created a new account. That’s it…not a bot, just an overweight Welshman who loves rabbits🤷♂️
My favorite insult the left gives me is when they tell me that I look trans. They say trans is beautiful, but then use it as an insult. Very comical. ( because a man can be a woman, but a masculine woman cannot? lol k )
Anyways, being a tomboy is pretty cool.
Being secure in my womanhood is pretty cool.
Being able to grow up and find my style without the pressure of trans ideology was pretty cool.
And I hope every young tomboy out there knows that she can grow up and be cool just the way she is.
That she doesn’t need to chop off body parts and take hormones. That she is allowed to be different, and that doesn’t mean she was born in the wrong body.
Tomboys are cool, and definitely worth saving.
What Is Naza?
Rufayda Qaoud was 17 years old.
She lived in Abu Qash, near Ramallah.
According to Amnesty International and court records reported at the time, Rufayda was repeatedly raped by two of her own brothers.
Then she became pregnant.
When she was taken to a hospital for an unrelated injury, doctors discovered she was eight months pregnant.
Palestinian social workers immediately understood what this meant. Rufayda wasn't only a rape victim. She was now in danger of being murdered by her own family in the name of "honor."
Authorities moved her to a protected location in Bethlehem.
In December 2002, she gave birth to a baby boy. The baby was later adopted by another Palestinian family.
But Rufayda wanted to go home.
Before allowing her to return, Palestinian officials reportedly demanded that her relatives and village elders sign a written promise that nobody would hurt her.
They promised.
Rufayda went home.
And then the pressure began.
According to accounts of the case, relatives distanced themselves from the family. Rufayda's mother, Amira, later said that the family's reputation had been destroyed.
Think about that for a moment.
Her daughter had been raped by her sons.
Yet somehow the daughter, the 17 year old victim, became the source of the family's "shame."
Her mother reportedly bought Rufayda a razor and told her to kill herself by cutting her wrists.
Rufayda refused.
On January 27, 2003, Rufayda realized she was in serious danger.
She contacted counselors and told them she was afraid her family would kill her.
They contacted the police.
That night, her mother sent Rufayda's father away and sent the younger children to a relative's house.
Then, at around 11:30 p.m., she entered the room where her daughter was sleeping.
According to the court records cited in contemporaneous reporting, she came carrying a plastic bag, a razor and a wooden stick.
She told her daughter:
"Tonight you die, Rofayda."
She pulled the plastic bag over her daughter's head.
She cut her wrists.
Rufayda begged her mother to stop.
When the girl went limp, her mother struck her in the head with the wooden stick.
Her mother later described the killing herself.
Rufayda was 17 years old.
So what does any of this have to do with Naza?
This is the question Naza should force people to confront:
When does a Palestinian girl's life become important to the Western world?
When Israel is accused of harming her, her face can become a poster, a headline, a film, a symbol and a cause.
But when a Palestinian girl is raped by Palestinian men, blamed for her own rape, pressured to kill herself and finally murdered by her own family in the name of "honor," where is the same cultural obsession?
Where are the films?
Where are the posters?
Where are the demonstrations?
Where is the outrage?
A Palestinian girl should matter because she is a human being, not because her suffering can be fitted into a politically useful story about Israel.
If you care about Palestinian women, then their oppression by Palestinian men, families, religious extremists and social norms has to matter too.
Otherwise, you're not really saying:
"Palestinian lives matter."
You're saying:
"Palestinian lives matter when Israel is involved."
And that selective compassion is exactly what Naza represents.
@alexmaccaroon 🤣🤣🤣
Jacob Reese Mogg…is most definitely not how a regular Englishman talks!
Despite his good showing against Carlson, his dated 1930’s upper class toff persona is a source of derision in the UK.
Literally nobody speaks like JRM except JRM!
@ShaunPinnerUA Never thought anyone could make me warm to the ridiculously performative Lord Snooty that is JRM…but Tucker Carlson’s only gone and done it!
This is the reality of students and others choosing Oct 7 to protest in favour of ‘Palestine’!
Justifiers of the most disgusting human perversion & hatred. Sick, twisted people who utterly revolt me to the very core of my being!
Dozens of bullets were fired by Hamas terrorists at the door of Tamar and Johnny’s safe room on October 7.
Even as they lay dying, Tamar and Johnny kept holding the door shut, trying to protect little Shahar, Arbel, and Omer until their final moments.
Tamar managed to send a text saying they had been shot and were critically wounded.
Then the terrorists set the house on fire.
Tamar, Johnny, Shahar, Arbel, and Omer all burned to death.
@fakehistoryhunt Before the ancient civilisations looneys chip in…this was discover BY mainstream archaeologists & suggests coordinated construction by hunter gatherers which we’ve already seen in Turkey. It does not suggest pre-ice age civilisations . No secrets, no cover ups-just good science!
Hamas shot Emily Damari, blew off two of her fingers and dragged her into Gaza.
They kept her hostage for 471 days.
She endured starvation, untreated wounds and brutal conditions while living with the fear that she could be sexually assaulted.
Emily says Hamas even held her inside UNRWA facilities while denying her proper medical treatment.
A Jewish woman was shot, mutilated, starved and held hostage by terrorists for 471 days.
Where the hell was UN Women?
Where was the outrage for Emily?

@Zaphod2042@thomasknox You completely underestimate the importance of ‘looking pretty’ which is why our urban landscape looks so effin terrible!
Your flippant dismissal reveals your elitism & detachment from the people that have to live with this architectural onanism on a daily basis!🙄
@Zaphod2042@teapot_lad Trouble is…what looks great on a render…looks shite after 30+ yrs in the British climate (with green algae, lichen, moss & pigeon shite added).
Modern architects seem incapable of choosing materials with any consideration of the longer term!🤔
@Zaphod2042 On closer inspection, it looks like they’ve mirrored the architectural style of the older building further up…so I’m puzzled how this is some how inauthentic?
Can you explain why this restoration of the original street plan and the removal of an eyesore is Disneyfication?🤔
