Deep Diving on some @NCAABaseball Power 5 Offensive Trends⬇️
What are the factors impacting the rise in offense across the board?
Posting some ideas in 🧵 below
Paradigm+ gives heat maps to Stuff+
On @ParadigmPDS reports, stars indicate whiffs. Blue zones are attack zones.
This was run on a Power 4 arm season report. Look at the clusters of whiffs over the attack zones. Take the guess work out. https://t.co/gHLFLtb9m9
Does BFR Throwing = Smart Velo?
@owensrecovery@Tywhite27 are pioneering a throwing program that utilizes blood flow restriction WHILE throwing 👀

How important is the 'big inning' in college baseball?
In 2025 teams who generated a big inning (3+ runs) won...
D1 Baseball: 70.2% of the time
D2 Baseball: 70.1% of the time
D3 Baseball: 69.6% of the time
NAIA Baseball: 70.6% of the time
Data means nothing if you can’t act on it and see real, in-game improvements. Thankful to support @CoachErikBakich and his talented staff @ClemsonBaseball in their pursuit of player development and a championship mentality!
Rethinking Pitching Development: Context is King 👑
✅Challenge Conventional Wisdom
➡️Useful range of motion>Available Range
➡️Don’t chase mechanical fixes post injury
➡️One size fits all drills ignore individual context
✅Embrace a Systems-Based Approach
➡️The body’s center drives the throw
➡️Rebuild trust with the central nervous system (CNS)
➡️Biomechanics describes, it doesn’t predict

Deep Diving on Run Values - “The Currency of the Game”💰- Josh Kalk
👊🏼This one is worth saving for later👇🏼
☑️Run values show how much each pitch changes run expectancy in an inning
☑️They reveal the true impact of pitch quality, location, and sequencing
☑️They cut through noise and measure what actually prevents (or creates) runs
☑️It’s the closest thing we have to evaluating real game performance pitch-by-pitch
Lot of money & trade capital spent so far on pitchers with 4+ ERAs last year. Of course those pitchers all still have great stuff and/or great K-BB rates.
Don’t use ERA to evaluate pitchers. Teams don’t.
It’s the batting average of pitching. Some signal, more noise.
“Induced vertical break has always been the second-most important metric (after velocity),” the Twins' Josh Kalk told us. On the widely-accepted metric: what it is, what it isn't, and what it has become, with @dennistlin & @chadjennings22 https://t.co/AVIWdbam6c
Pitch Design “U” is officially LIVE.
Inside you’ll find:
• 3 modules
• 16 video lessons
• 3+ hours of content
Module #1 → Pitch Movement Fundamentals
Inside this module you will learn key terms and definitions involved in pitch movement.
You will also learn how to read a movement plot and what the 3 types of movement profiles are.
Module #2 → How to Throw Each Pitch Type
Inside this module you will learn what a supination and pronation bias is and how it impacts what pitch types are better suited for each pitcher.
I will also walk you through how to throw every single pitch with multiple grip options and edgertronic video to show how the ball should be spinning.
Lastly, there will be MLB pitcher examples for every pitch.
Module #3 → Analytics (Pitch Performance)
In this module I will show you what the data says on pitch performance.
Where in the zone each pitch performs the best, how to use your stuff, and show MLB examples of how pitchers use their stuff based on batter handedness.
Bonus #1 → Creating a Plan Step-By-Step
In this bonus section I will walk you through my process for deciding what pitch you should develop.
There will be multiple case study examples, showing you this process.
Bonus #2 → Pitch Grip "Cheat Sheet"
As an added bonus you'll be able to download a PDF with pictures of all pitch grips, along with cues for everyone of them.
If you’ve made it this far, I am guessing you are interested in starting the course!
