Like what are we doing here?
He's 42. 42! You have 2 young QBs now and you can't waste another year not seeing what they can do.
Let it go and move on!
Sources: the Steelers placed the rare right-of-first-refusal tender on Aaron Rodgers, meaning that he can accept a 10 percent raise off last year’s salary, which would pay him about $15 million this season, and the Steeelrs also now will have the right to match any offer sheet he would sign with another team.
As another condition of the tender, Rodgers would only be able to sign with the Steelers once training camp begins.
What's the selling point for the #Steelers to bring Rodgers back? There's no need for him anymore. He isn't going to take you to the Super Bowl. Go into camp and let Will Howard and Drew Allar battle it out and see what happens.
Why waste another year with a 42 year old?
It makes no sense for the #Steelers to bring Rodgers back. While he did play well at times, it has to be time to move on. You can't keep running this thing back. Tomlin is gone. The no losing season record is done. Look towards the future and let's go.
Cowboys tight ends coach Lunda Wells is expected to interview this week for the Steelers offensive coordinator job,
Wells worked under Steelers HC Mike McCarthy in Dallas for five years, and interviewed this month for the Commanders OC job. He also is head coach for the west team in tonight’s East-West Shrine game.
Breaking: After a historic 19-season run in Pittsburgh, Mike Tomlin just informed his team that he is stepping down as the Steelers head coach, sources tell @JFowlerESPN and me.
The Steelers now will be looking for only their fourth head coach since 1969.
If Mike Tomlin is such an amazing coach that every team in the NFL wants and we hear national media members saying teams would fire their coach for him. Why not trade him to the #Raiders for the first overall pick straight up.
Should be a easy decision, right? #Steelers
Been saying this since June, signing Rodgers was stupid. You can’t keep signing older QBs. It’s okay to suck for a few years to get your guy. Going 10-7, losing in the first round of the playoffs, and picking 21st isn’t getting your franchise nowhere. #Steelers
Yet, here we are.
