There's a major state sponsored misinformation and smear campaign towards GrapheneOS in the Netherlands and Germany. The misinformation campaign includes unsubstantiated security claims not holding up to scrutiny to scare people away from it. They're also heavily misrepresenting who uses it overall.

These smear campaigns conflate GrapheneOS with forks and modifications of it sold by shady companies. Those usually include a device management app to remotely manage the devices of their customers as if they're employees. These are largely not GrapheneOS devices or have preinstalled malware apps.

A common tactic being used in these smear campaigns is to make unsubstantiated and outright false claims about the capabilities of forensic data extraction tools. They misrepresent how they get into devices. They want to scare people into using far less secure devices which are easier to exploit.

France, Germany, Spain and the Netherlands are becoming increasingly authoritarian surveillance states with an ongoing crackdown against privacy. It's happening throughout the whole EU and it's likely both secure devices and end-to-end encryption without backdoors are going to end up outlawed.

There are a bunch of companies based in the EU selling phones with drastically worse privacy and security than an iPhone including Jolla, Volla, Murena and iodé. These products are effectively backdoored by not providing standard privacy and security patches/protections while misleading users.

France and other EU countries are actively cracking down on legitimate privacy and security projects while supporting unsafe products within their control. These products make it far easier to remotely exploit devices and also to bypass encryption to extract data. They're phony privacy products.

Each of the companies we've listed have participated in the misinformation and smear campaigns against GrapheneOS. Jolla spent years working closely with Putin's regime. Volla, Murena and iodé are building an EU Play Integrity API. None provides the crucial standard privacy patches/protections.

Murena is directly assisting with state anti-privacy campaigns smearing highly private and secure devices as mainly benefiting criminals. They've repeatedly falsely claimed GrapheneOS is mainly used by criminals. Here are 2 of many examples:

GrapheneOS, end-to-end encrypted messaging apps, Monero and other projects are being targeted with state and corporate propaganda and anti-privacy laws. Meanwhile, the same governments heavily fund and support phony privacy projects clearly downgrading privacy and security compared to an iPhone.

GrapheneOS is only an initial target for these state actors and their sycophants in corporate news organizations. Apple heavily works on protecting users against exploits too. It would be much harder to convince the public that an iPhone is for criminals so they're starting with open source.

🌐 Tor prend ses distances avec Mullvad à cause d’un don personnel via un co-fondateur à un parti suédois... Mais en parallèle, le projet a été conçu et financé pendant des décennies par des branches du gouvernement américain !

En 2025, Daniel Berntsson (co-fondateur et co-propriétaire de Mullvad) donne 5M SEK (520 k$) à l’Örebropartiet. Ce don représente environ 72% des revenus du parti cette année-là

Le parti prône notamment zéro immigration d’asile (hors cas très limités) et une remigration à grande échelle

Mullvad précise que c’est un don privé, que la société n’est pas impliquée, et que l’autre co-fondateur s’y oppose

Ils gardent la collaboration technique (Mullvad Browser = Tor Browser sans le réseau.. ça a amélioré la maintenabilité et l’auditabilité du code)

Mais ils mettent en pause le co-branding et clarifient le langage pour ne plus laisser croire à un alignement de valeurs

L’onion routing a été inventé dans les années 1990 au Naval Research Laboratory (US Navy) par Paul Syverson et ses collègues

- 2015 : 85% du budget venait du gouvernement US

- 2021-2022 : 53,5%

- 2023-2024 : encore 35% (2,56 M$ sur 7,3 M$) dont 2,12 M$ du State Department (Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor)

Le Broadcasting Board of Governors (BBG, agence issue de la CIA qui gère Voice of America, Radio Free Europe, etc..) a versé environ 6,1 M$ à Tor entre 2007 et 2015 via l’Open Technology Fund

2500 pages de correspondance :

Plans de déploiement de Tor dans des pays ciblés par Washington (Chine, Iran, Russie..)

Réunions et trainings avec CIA, NSA, FBI, DOJ et State Department

Rapports mensuels détaillés aux financeurs, et contrats avec obligations strictes

Il y a un contraste...

Un don personnel d’un co-fondateur de partenaire à un parti local suédois = distance idéologique et clarification de valeurs

Des millions de dollars récurrents, des origines militaires, des contrats et des réunions documentées avec des agences US de soft power et de sécurité = acceptés depuis le début

Bref... Le code est open source. C’est une vraie protection technique. Mais les priorités, les arbitrages et la dépendance financière restent des faits

Savoir d’où vient l’argent, et quelles paroles sont jugées "incompatibles" avec la mission fait partie de la souveraineté numérique 🔎

Capcom devs came up with a clever trick to render transparent objects on CPS-3, which can't do alpha blending. They made transparent objects flicker on and off, which kinda looks like transparency on CRT screens

This looks really bad in MAME. In 3SX we just do real transparency

La emulación de PS5 sigue avanzando a pasos agigantados. Con la última build de EmK530, el emulador ya cuenta con guardado de partidas, soporte para controles por movimiento y en juegos como Astro’s Playroom hay picos de entre 40 y 60 FPS en varias zonas.

Esto representa un incremento de hasta 20 FPS respecto a la versión anterior (de hace unos dias).
