@32nds It's also a pivotal moment where the player gets to have that power fantasy with a group of marines. The Ghosts charge that area specifically so the player can decimate them.

Piloting a heavy tank 15 seconds prior to intending the player to being introduced to one is...strange.

@32nds There's a part in the gameplay video where he pilots the Wraith (which you couldn't do in CE) 15 seconds before the game introduces him to the Scorpion tank.

That just seems like a very odd design decision to me. Like enabling a feature to have it, at the expense of pacing.
