To be frank, I was already very disengaged from Twitter, and only check in here every so often to see what people I like are sharing. This probably won’t be my last tweet … but then again, it may be.
Today I set up my Mastodon account and though it's certainly very early days, I’m loving it. It reminds me of Twitter circa 2008, and nothing at all of Twitter in 2022.
If you're looking at migrating to Mastodon, try https://t.co/FixaBxAJ35 Loads of your followers and people you follow will be there already. And to be visible to others, add your Mastodon handle to your profile.
The tone is very different: much less geared towards grabbing attention (which has been a big turnoff for me for years). I'm optimistic that in the absence of a needy algorithmic timeline that Mastodon will be a better space for real conversation and especially … nuance.
@LukeDurrant Yes, so would I. The only good answer in code would be to completely randomise the response, with a declaration that the result is meaningless.
Of all the things that blew off, compared to Web3 or NTFs for which we're still wondering what they are useful for, at least AI showed us on day 1 actual useful and practical applications.
@mhra1313i@andrei_terteci@shashiwhocodes Yet Stack Overflow is surely a massive chunk of what it’s trained on. I wonder how a system that is trained on human work will go long term without that resource.
@kentcdodds The big worry is for education. Developers will still need to know how to code, even if much of the role becomes more like being an editor working with an author.
@hubermanlab Timing for protein and creatine supplementation is an interesting topic. Does it matter if it’s pre or post workout?
And if timing does matter, is it beneficial for aerobic as well as strength training?
@kayschubach Discussed this with my GP last week: I’m heading to Europe at the end of January.
He said the evidence suggests it would be a good idea — though ATAGI won’t yet allow it.
@miriamcosic Yes — it’s utterly criminal that the cruise liners are back. They’re terrible for Venice in every way: structurally, environmentally and culturally.
@derridalicious I can’t see any reason why bad experiences should have an upside. You’re having a really rough time and you’re not under any obligation to find positive aspects. No one should expect that of you.
