Part of the reason I don't talk politics on this page is that I represent a business; myself.
Jason here is one of the faces at Paizo; a company who employs approximately 80 people full time. I'm so glad he has decided to risk the jobs of the other employees at the company by sharing this ugly attitude and alienating 50% of their user base.
TTRPG tables are a place where you can sit down and escape the politics and pressures of the day to day. I'm never one to say someone should be fired over this, but I think Paizo should re-evaluate who they want representing their company.
I believe that Sam was being hyperbolic.
I also believe he was telling the truth.
Look at Britain, we already know that the Left will sacrifice hundreds of thousands of girls on the altar of "anti"-racism.
The Laws of Behavioral Genetics: a primer, and thread 🧵
The five laws of behavioral genetics are:
1. All human behavioral traits are heritable
2. The effect of being raised in the same family is smaller than the effect of the genes.
3. A substantial portion of the variation in complex human behavioral traits is not accounted for by the effects of genes or families.
4. A typical human behavioral trait is associated with very many genetic variants, each of which accounts for a very small percentage of the behavioral variability.
5. All phenotypic relationships are to some degree genetically mediated or confounded.
What do these mean? Let’s find out…
“Don’t ‘Other’ fictional monsters. It’s morally wrong.
“Othering real world people with different beliefs is perfectly okay. Kill all MRA’s.”
My ears started bleeding from the utterly perfect example of the Platonic ideal of hypocrisy.
I have seen into the world of the forms.
White men are the only demographic with whom I can have a rowdy, cantankerous discussion without needing to sanitise my takes or babysit their feelings. Good conversation is such a meaningful part of life, i would be so miserable if i had to take women seriously & talk to them!
@timharrison@eyeslasho It's a zero sum.
You can't simply add more good jobs within a fixed population. If you're adding more blacks then you're taking away something else.
@eyeslasho It simply wasn't.
The Dems feel no shame for their own riots, which were objectively FAR worse. Why should we feel shame for a minor scuffle?
Normal guys place kindness (to them) above verbal iq,, because a nasty woman lacks the nurturing warmth required to be a good mom.
Simps with mommy issues are attracted to nasty women with a sharp tongue eg. RFH. Being nasty to men attracts simps who lack self-respect (submissive masochists).
Men may like extroversion and verbal charm and all that crap, but they’re at best secondary to being nice to him. Being a bitch to him is a dealbreaker, being shy is not.
A shy woman who is a homebody is going to be a good and loyal wife and mom, so plenty of guys are genuinely happy with women like that. It’s much more important to be nice to him than to be an attention seeking extrovert.
Being reserved also makes him the centre of her universe, and makes her a little more helpless without him, which is a cute dynamic as regards gender polarity.
If he likes extroversion and verbal charm, and many guys do, it’s still secondary to her actually loving him and being nice to him, because a woman who lacks affection for him but is extroverted and loves attention, is going to cheat.
It’s is always more important for a woman to be nice, than to be witty, unless he wants a whore or a devouring mother.
@esrtweet This highlights what should be the priority focus of 'Conservatism' - Trust. Note: Should. imo.
The goal isn't "Status Quo", it's "Things that further a High-Trust Society should be conserved, adopted, promulgated, and taught."
Lefties with pronouns in their bio want you to forget that time they harassed a little white girl online for daring to have a Japanese tea ceremony, with kimono and everything exact.
Meanwhile, the Japanese defended her.
They will gaslight you into memory-holing everything.
The thing is, she does know what she’s doing. Wilson is perfectly intelligent and competent as a scholar of Ancient Greek, and explains her translation choices pretty extensively in her textual notes and elsewhere. It’s not a problem of lack of knowledge. It’s a problem of ideological eisegesis and projection.
She makes extremely clear in her lectures that she has an ax to grind: she has enormous contempt for the men of the poem, Odysseus and Telemachus especially, whom she views as morally deficient, unserious, villainous, and vindictive. She alternatively downplays male heroism and exaggerates culpability; for instance saying in the opening lines that Odysseus “failed” to save his men (rather than the more common “could not” or “[tried in] vain”), a positive moral judgment that is found nowhere in the Greek (this despite her many criticisms of previous translators for supposedly inserting their own moral notions into the text).
She quite simply does not care for Homer, his heroes, or his society, and her choices reflect that. As @AnthonyEsolen has said, “The translator above all must get out of the way: the original author must increase, and the translator must decrease.” Wilson does the opposite. She’s not intellectually unqualified as a translator, she’s morally unqualified.

My theory: Women always were hard woke leftists, eager trade liberty for security, and replace judgement with protocol.
What changed is the welfare safety hammock, combined with affirmative action and the nanny state that creates massive demand for (mostly female) regulatory compliance jobs, means women no longer feel they need male support.
Of course they do need male support, since they do not build our infrastructure and are net negative taxpayers, but they no longer need to ask men nicely.
So they don't.
Why Daddy is the Villain in Leftist Stories
(Disclosure: I hang out with hard-core leftists on a regular basis. Think of me as your spy.)
"You should not claim one lifestyle is superior" is the leftist creed, according to conservatives who don't understand them.
No. The actual leftist creed is, "You may champion any lifestyle as the best choice, provided that lifestyle is not the best choice."
Here is why: Leftists are infants with knives. If you hurt their feelings, they will stab you.
I suspect this is why they cocoon themselves in inverted morality. For example, many hard-core leftists champion the poly lifestyle, and claim it is superior. However, they will fly into a rage if you tell them kids need a stable family with both a mother and father. If any leftist foolishly says such a thing to his leftist friends, he's in for a struggle session. If he doesn't recant, he will likely be ostracized.
Among leftists, you can say it's better to be gay, but you can't say it's better to be straight. Why is it okay to promote one lifestyle but not another? Because it actually is better to be straight. Humanity needs straight couples to produce a healthy new generation, and all leftists know it. Unfortunately, that's a standard they (generally) don't live up to, and that hurts their feelings.
Among leftists, you may assert your belief that the best family structure is a six-person human centipede, and nobody will object. But you cannot tell them kids need a father, because they know that's true.
Worse, it's obviously important. On some level, all single moms know they are damaging their children, perhaps damaging them horribly and irreparably. Mommy is desperately trying to forget this nauseating fact, so if you remind her, she will summon the winged monkeys to help her shut you up.
To a leftist, the worst sin is to hurt his feelings, which means the worst sin is to remind him of a moral standard he doesn't live up to.
This is why a man will shift politically rightward when he gets into shape or acquires a valuable skill. Now he feels stronger, more confident, and hence less fearful of a real moral standard.
Note that leftists extend this concept to race. "You may champion any race as the best race, except..."
This is why they decry fat-shaming: Not because fat is okay; they know perfectly well obesity will ruin anyone's life. It is because they reject any real performance standard.
Bogus performance standards are okay, because everyone knows they are bogus, so nobody will feel ashamed for not living up to them.
In leftist culture, it would be perfectly okay to say everyone should tattoo their entire body with dicks. The 100%-tattooed-dicks moral code is acceptable, because everyone knows it is stupid. But if you say women should be tattoo-free, your leftists friend will reenact the scene from The Body Snatchers, when the pod people detect a human.
This is also why they demonize fathers. We've all noticed that movies and TV shows (almost invariably written by leftists) depict only two types of fathers: Pathetic, and Evil.
That's because Mommy's Love is unconditional, so Mommy is good. Daddy's affection must be earned, so Daddy is always the villain of their story.
The reason people are reacting so intensely to all this is bc they spent 8 grueling years fighting to prove that the Great Replacement was real and not a conspiracy theory
And won—only to discover a few days ago that actually there was another great replacement happening and this one was not about no-skill meat processing and fruit picking jobs; this one was for jobs and lifestyles parents got tricked into spending a lot of time and money trying to get their kids ready for.
The voters who delivered the swing states, the base, are reeling. The veiled insults and demeaning “entitled” slurs don’t help.
Jocks-are-evil was the pathology of envious writers bitter they didn't date cheerleaders in highschool.
And cheerleaders weren't airheads.
Cheerleading was incredibly competitive, lots of girls in school wanted on the team. They were athletes and had to maintain high GPAs.
They're half demons but as common as dirt. Every player these days seems to want to play one. They're the new "drow as playable race" (which was IMO a serious, serious mistake on Gary's part).
The idea of a half-demon character struggling to cope with their demonic half and fit into society - as well as hide what they are - could be a fascinating PC to play.
When you have six in the party and the human fighter is the lone weirdo, it robs it of any uniqueness. Think about Spock for a minute. What made Spock stand out? The fact that he was a half Vulcan trying to make his way in a world where he was surrounded by all these emotional humans, he himself was trying to be Vulcan, and inside his human tendency towards emotions was fighting his Vulcan stoicism all the time. It made for great storytelling. But if suddenly everyone on the Enterprise was half-human/half-Vulcan it'd just be...meh. Spock would get lost in the background noise.
Plus from a practical standpoint, how many people are screwing demons in your campaign world, to the point that this is the norm:
