It took me 3 years to realize that the only cure to depression is just leaving the house at every single possible opportunity no matter how badly you don’t want to.
Discernment is designed to PROTECT your life, your assignment, and your peace.
NOT POISON your heart.
There is a difference between a bitter person who has decided not to trust anyone
and a CALIBRATED person whose spirit
has simply learned to read the room.
One is a wound that never healed.
The other is a GIFT that matured.
At 30, living with your parents is not automatically failure, but it must have a reason and a plan.
If you are there to save aggressively, build your capital, clear your debt, or stabilize your career, that is strategy. If you are there because you are drifting, avoiding your responsibility, or waiting for your life to magically change, that is delay.
At 30, your independence should first exist in your mindset, even if it is not yet in your address. You should be contributing to your household, carrying your weight, and actively working toward your own structure. Your comfort must not replace your ambition.
There is no shame in receiving temporary support. The danger is when your support becomes your ceiling.
Living with your parents at 30 should be your launchpad or your recovery phase, never your hiding place.
Miss Universe Namibia 2025, Johanna Swartbooi, described representing Namibia on the global stage as a moment filled with “pride, joy, and excitement.”
On Saturday, Swartbooi joined participants from around the world in the closed-door interview sessions, a key segment of the Miss Universe pageant. All candidates took part in this stage, which is crucial to selecting the next Miss Universe.
An eight-member evaluation panel, featuring prominent figures from the pageant, beauty, entertainment, and fashion industries, conducted the interviews.
The panel included Mario Bucaro, CEO of the Miss Universe Organization; Victoria Kjaer Theilvig, Miss Universe 2024; Olivia Quido, Miss Universe Skin Care Director; and Chalida Thaochalee, Miss Thailand 1998.
Other members were Louie Heredia, a retired Filipino singer; Mia Arcenas, a Filipina designer; Lisa Harrigan, a Canadian show coach; and Denis Dávila, an MUO staff member and former National Director of Miss Universe Canada.
Reflecting on her journey, Swartbooi shared, “I’ve built a journey that bridges beauty, business, and purpose. From my experience as an award-winning international model to entrepreneurship, social work, and innovation, I’ve dedicated myself to creating opportunities that empower sustainable growth through the ||Hapo Initiative.”
She emphasised that her mission goes far beyond personal success, adding, "I’ve learnt that true success isn’t defined by how bright we shine, but by how brightly we help others shine too."
With poise, purpose, and national pride, Swartbooi continues to position herself as one of Namibia’s most compelling representatives on the Miss Universe stage.
As the competition progresses, her message of empowerment and sustainable impact resonates strongly with audiences worldwide.
