@BuccoTerritory@PlatinumKey13 Not worried about the stats. Worried about his average 4 seam velocity dropping from 98.8 to 98.1 to 97.1 from 2024 to 2026.
@Panther49547104 Thats not true. His average 4 seam fastball velo has went from 98.8 to 98.2 to 97.1.
Inning restrictions do not impact velocity but if it did his pitch counts are higher this year than rookie year
He's either intentionally doing it to preserve his arm or something is wrong.
@BlueChewAddict@northsiden0tch Didnt say he needs to throw 100 every time. His average 4 seam velo has dropped from 98.8 to 98 to 97.1 year over year. How much further does it need to drop before you become worried?
@rtjr Is he really still making his pitches all the time? When did Skenes go from 99-101 to just routinely sitting 96-98? Without that velocity its a lot easier for guys to manifest "good hitting".
@kgriffinburner6 Saw that and immediately got upset that he even swung at a pitch instead of working the count full. Then all of the sudden scoreboard flipped to 4-2!
@Wins_Williams I mean, this is the bill of goods we were sold (minus the HR). Problem is he's had exactly 3 of these games despite getting so much playing time. He can get launched to the moon for all I care.
@Tbabs17 They don't *have* to lose that production. Extend him for $25mil AAV and offset the cost by rostering Garcia, Horwitz, Gonzales and Valdez at dirt cheap salaries for 162 games throughout the length of his contract.
