@ApexImperialist At some point Conservatives must accept that Hollywood is 99.9% full of liberals who want to do nothing else than push a liberal agenda, even if they accidentally make something good 1 out of 50 tries. It doesn't make sense to give them money...especially when anime exists.
@imadr114 That's fine. To me it just looks like a quicksand leading to like, hundreds of hours of time that I have zero interest in dedicating to a video game.
@RandomWordsGuy I don't agree with any cropping or altering.
I just think going forward we should all just be happy with a 16x9 standard across the board. It's just better. To me at least.
Itโs because Oppenheimer wasnโt highlighting the different formats the same way we are now. The information to watch the movie 6 different ways was out there, but fans were leading the charge on it, not studios, and people cared passively.
Since full frame print scans starting making their round, and with the release of Sinners, One Battle and Hail Mary, people who donโt understand the intention behind the ways these movies are meant to be experienced, are acting like subject-matter experts, sharing bad takes and the wrong information.
Some of us have spent years carefully educating people on different formats and the importance and value of the different experiences. Itโs all being undone by weirdos who think watching an IMAX movie on their iPad is the same thing as watching it on an 80 foot theater screen.
@RandomWordsGuy I've done that my entire life, everyone has.
I've watched endless hours of film & TV content in theaters, on my TV, and on my laptop.
In the end...a 16x9 across the board aspect ratio would be the best all around. I've never seen a 1.85:1 and thought "Imagine this in 2.40:1!"
@Mr_goji54 The leanzilla look could have absolutely worked if they JUST got the characterization and powerset right. The animated series helped prove that.
@KingGoji62 Most don't know that term, its mostly infamous among certain fan circles.
We have plenty of normy fans that havent even seen all of the films, let alone have any understanding of what has or hasn't been restored to what level, let alone encountered the phrase "hi-vision"
@M3S0soic@TheNCSmaster And I think to an extent they are rebooting with diminishing returns.
Star Wars debuted in 77 but in a lot of ways Empire and Jedi defined the early 80s.
@Alexsaurus47@penpen_iii Yep. Godzilla 2000 could have launched a trilogy. If given a sequel by Toho it could have been in a unique position because it also almost got a Sony-made American sequel in "Godzilla Reborn" which sounded awesome and THAT didn't get made either. We were robbed.
@AT_BASE_@fromthereel Skull Island and the MonsterVerse put him into Toho mode just like classic Toho King Kong portrayals.
Peter Jackson was trying to chase Oscars and $1B at the Box Office with the 2005 film.
@GodzillaGuyZ Any expansions of the monster roster, whether in the form of new skins or assets from the rest of the Pipeworks trilogy...Will be GREATLY appreciated.
@NitroSpidey I have never given a crap about GTA. It was cool and edgy for a bit when I was a pre-teen.
But dudes, the last game was 13 years ago. Get over that nonsense. GTA isn't cool any more.
Godzilla will always be cool.
@RagoneAugust@tohovisual@GKIDSfilms Well, they DID buy Gkids entirely. I doubt they did it JUST for theatrical releases and new releases. They gave Shin Godzilla the king's treatment and even did an entirely new English Dub.
I just wouldn't be shocked if they did something like that for more of the library.
@penpen_iii Apparently it was all on the same engine/build whatever so I think it will be very easy to DLC the hell out of DAMM
OR if the remaster is a hit, just make a whole new game from the ground up.
