@AnitaBellows12@Glennademeter There are times when we treat illness despite side effects. But then managing those side effects is part of the treatment plan. So if the gp signs off work, why shouldn't managing the side effects or reviewing if that treatment is still an overall good be part of treatment.
@AnitaBellows12@Glennademeter I disagree. If a doctor agrees to sign a patient off work, that may be good short term but the long term impact on their health is an overall negative. There are people who need to be signed off and also people whose health will further spiral without contact/ routine/purpose.
@womenoffaith No it isn't. That is such a spiritually abusive thing to say. "For everything there is a season:
a time to plant, & a time to harvest
a time to break down, & a time to build up;
a time toย weep, & a time to laugh"
@JennyKirkwood20@The_HCPC @badthopen @baat_org@musictherapyuk And that I find highly unacceptable. Just as referring to all the UK as England is not acceptable. Include the S or separate them out. Very poor show from our professional body if they don't
@JennyKirkwood20@The_HCPC @badthopen @baat_org@musictherapyuk I see this like I see the UK. We are one country - UK. We are also four counties-England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales.
I am a dramatherapist. I am also a creative arts therapists. I have more shared with my BAMT / BAAT colleagues than I have which separates us.
@MichaelTakeMP "The children now love luxury; they have bad manners, contempt for authority; they show disrespect for elders and love chatter in place of exercise. Children are now tyrants." - Socrates
@suicideresearch@MQmentalhealth The more adverse childhood experiences you have (trauma / neglect / abuse / blocked parenting) the more likely you are to experience every physical illness - asthma, cancer, dementia, heart disease...
So also no physical health without mental health?
Just spoke about dramatherapy at the "Professional Forum No.6 AHPs in Mental Health" event organised by Joanne Tyler. These were my slides.
I spoke about people being full of stories and shared a couple of stories about me. 1/6
I talked about how to represent thoughts & feelings, how to locate those in the body "butterflies in tummy" "weight on my shoulders". Be curious about them. I use an empty chair to externalise internal arguments "shall I go out or netflix and chill" 5/6
