Our current government seems to have little understanding of #mentalhealth, mental health based disabilities, or their own benefits system.
Mental health matters.
We can do so much better.
Many of you will be dismayed at the way our Prime Minister talked about mental health and work today.
Here at Playing Sane we know we can do better.
Mental health challenges are real, tangible, measurable experiences. You are not cheating the system by claiming that.
After a lot of work Playing Sane has officially been registered as a full #charity. We've always been not-for-profit but we believe this change will allow us to do so much more.
Thank you to everyone who's been involved or supported us!

We hope @SpotlightUK will engage with the wider industry going forward, working with us in a way that reflects the position they hold in our sector and the responsibility that comes with it. 6/6
It is also concerning that @SpotlightUK have chosen to go down a helpline route when our discussions with industry consistently flag this a poor option for this workforce. 5/6

While this is playing out, people are anxious - desperate - about the security of their homes & jobs, their debts, rent & benefits.
This is not a political game. Economic stress is the most powerful driver of mental ill-health & suicide.
Whatever you're going through, you're not alone.
We're here for you this #WorldMentalHealthDay and beyond.
Please like and retweet this post so we can reach someone who really needs to see it ๐

Today is #WorldSuicidePreventionDay
An estimated 703,000 people a year take their life around the world.
For every suicide, there are likely 20 other people making a suicide attempt and many more have serious thoughts of suicide.
#BeTheLight and prevent suicide.
