@GeneralMCNews The last thing you should want is for Trump, who is wrecking our economy and clearly appears to be making all of Putinโs dreams come true, to appoint a cowardly Trump sycophant to be Fed Chairman! Trump would then call all the shots. Heโd completely destroy our economy.
@JDVance I donโt care. Itโs a day of mourning for me. The end of the country I loved and once knew. Where people cared for others and you could count on your leaders look out for their citizens. A country where you donโt have to be afraid. The one that in hard times would pull together.
The forced opening of migrant centres across Ireland in small towns and villages without consultation and with the use of heavily armed police is not the act of a democratic government. It is the act of a despotic monarch or colonial power.
People across Ireland who have lived their whole lives in peace and quiet, paid their taxes, worked hard, obeyed the law as their parents, grandparents and ancestors did before them are now being beaten into accepting masses of immigrants who will permanently change the demographics and culture of their communities.
The idea of a functioning democracy is that you pay taxes - exorbitant in the case of Ireland - for the government to provide basic public services to support local communities. In return politicians get a fat paycheck for their bureaucracy. But what is happening now in Ireland is that the political class have become so separated from and insulated from the public that they believe that their job is to enact great, sweeping destiny changing projects and the people paying for it all are simply a nuisance. Serfs.
In Ireland, it is a matter of fact that you would have to go back to the era of Oliver Cromwell in the 1650s to find a comparable plantation of outsiders into Irish communities as this government is now undertaking. We all know how well that panned out. This government is the most reckless, authoritarian and dangerous since colonial times. Dark days ahead.
