Megan Franke on Counting Collections, “The first thing we do is highlight what you do know.” “If we frame it as a mistake, that means there is something to fix, rather than framing it differently.”
“Tell me what you have here?” @UCLAMathProject@CAMathCouncil
Congrats to these @lrsd teachers, each presenting a session at the CGI National conference! Proud of Thoma Thacker @lrsd_terry, Remona Moore @BaleElementary, Katrina Long @Gibbs_Magnet , & Patricia Goodman @LRSD_CI! Looking forward to Arkansas hosting this conference in 2024!
I love this quote from Mazie Jenkins, who was my first CGI leader when I began my CGI learning journey many years ago. Thanks to @ekazemi for sharing this simple yet profound message from Mazie, and to @TracyZager for illuminating it. #cgiconference#cgiarkansas
This was a great week of learning at the CGI National Conference! Loved presenting about Counting Principles and reconnecting with friends—and making new ones! Also, @lrsd and Arkansas were well represented! Excited that Arkansas will host in 2024! #cgiconference@LRSD_Math_Dept

@StephPanecasio When I find myself saying this (as a teacher) it’s typically when I am in a 1 way convo or lecture (only me talking) but I really want a 2 way convo/discussion instead. Sometimes say “What resonates with you about this?” Or “How would you restate this?”
Showed this amazing video in class today from @smartereveryday. So many wonderful connections to learning math. Give it a watch if you haven’t seen it. #mtbos#iteachmath https://t.co/wwWOcPNc3x
