New wastewater testing shows Nantucket’s sewage contains cocaine levels far above national and regional averages.

Two separate spikes, in October and December, surged to nearly 3 times the U.S. average, according to reports from the Inquirer and Mirror.

Health officials say the data will help “behavioral health partners.” But critics say this kind of testing doesn’t lie, it shows exactly what people are putting into their bodies, whether they admit it or not.
