things are going to be hard at first. allow your mind & body to develop a tolerance. give yourself time to get stronger thru repeated exposure. it’s simpler to give into fear. facing the challenge takes work. do the opposite of what your mind is telling you to & see what happens.
Sometimes I think about the friends I gladly let go this year, and I question why I tolerated their bullshit for so long. One of them told me to forgive my abuser so many times…so they could feel like their indiscretions in life were forgivable.
Maybe you don’t fear failure. Maybe you actually fear success. Understanding this concept will change your life. Grab a little drink and get comfy. I wrote a think piece for you:
The more you mature, the more you start choosing calm over chaos and distance over disrespect. Drama becomes intolerable to you and your peace becomes your ultimate priority. You start surrounding yourself with people who are good for your mental health, heart, and soul.
Even though I shouldn’t grieve a breakup with a toxic friend, I do. We’d been friends for about 9 years. She wanted to keep me small. She blamed me for her pain. She refused to take responsibility for her actions or meet me in the middle. Still, I can’t believe it’s over.
People think you’re stupid when you have a big heart. They’ll use your kindness & generosity to their advantage.
When they finally realize you’ve cut them off, they’re comically still trying to blame you. Scars never come from your enemies but people who "care" about you.
You deserved someone who was interested in you because you're you. Not because you were the prettiest, or the strongest, or the smartest, the funniest, or whatever.
You deserved it then, and you deserve it now.
Introverts are not impressed by your words, they seek genuineness. Vulnerability, authenticity, open mindedness. They're people who are completely independent. They don't care much about your opinions & approvals. They want honest. Real. Show, don't tell. That's all.
