@guyfelicella Because the US graciously allowed you and Mexico to host games despite being able to host the entire tournament on our own and even allowed you guys to have the opportunity to play some knockout round games at home (which you squandered). Be grateful for what you got!
@JJRonald71@NHLtoHouston@friedkingroup No. The NHL said a new arena would have to be built. If the team were owned by Fertitta then I don’t think it would be an issue but the most they’d play in Toyota Center is for like a season or two while the new arena is being built.
@seanshapiro don’t play ball with Dan Friedkin. But seeing as how he’s already bought land in northwest Houston in the past few weeks (presumably for the new NHL arena) as of right now that seems unlikely.
@seanshapiro Houston beats Austin or is tied in almost every single category they will be looking at whether that be market size, population, corporate dollars, median age, median income, etc. This is Houston’s team to lose. The only way Houston wouldn’t get this team is if local politicians
@JDNalton You guys should be happy the US graciously allowed you guys to be cohosts so that you would get 3 homes games and the chance for a knockout round game. If the US didn’t want you guys to be cohosts you guys wouldn’t have been. Be grateful.
@AVGuyCaleb@NHL This was actually Toyota Center. Good times! This destroyed the Texas Stars in attendance numbers too so should be a no brainer. If we did this for a AHL team can't imagine what it would be like for a NHL team.
