The Atlanta Hawks view 21 year old Wizards guard AJ Johnson as one of the top prospects in the league, sources tell @PolandSportsNet.
Johnson was drafted with the 23rd pick in the 2024 NBA draft by the Milwaukee Bucks before being traded to Washington in the Kyle Kuzma trade.
Rival teams are expecting the Wizards to draft Alex Sarr or Zaccharie Riscacher at No. 2, whichever one isn’t selected by the Hawks, per @DraftExpress/@JeremyWoo (https://t.co/UUnXb63TKF).
Sarr to Atlanta and Risacher to Washington is a probable outcome to kick off the draft.
The Hornets have no immediate plans to work on a buyout with Lowry and are expected to see if they can work another trade for him before the February 8 deadline, sources tell ESPN.
Most teams around the league have expressed interest in these players. It is believed that Washington’s asking price for Gallinari and Shamet is at least 2 first round picks and at least 3 first round picks for Jones and Poole, per Gorthot.
Washington is interested in bringing back Ukrainian guard Issuf Sanon for his third Summer League appearance, per sources.
Sanon played for the Wizards Summer League team in 2018 and 2019.
